After 7 years of peeling lips and angular cheilitis I had a tremendous improvement after taking B complex for about 3 weeks. I stopped the course one month ago and still no sign of soreness on the corner and my lips are almost pink (for years people were asking me if I had red lipstick and it was horrible)and the peeling is minimum only a little bit on my lower lips and I din't have to use any cream or any antifungal of anykind. Every six month I have a full blood tests and there isn't a single thing out of place .
I'm gluten free since 9 months.Stool test were ok. I was suffering with occasional diarrhea(mostly at night) which stopped after I went gluten/cow milk free. My gastroenterolgist told me that I'm healthy and diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel and too much stress and worry about my life.
Of course I'm happy (althought I'm scared of saying that I'm cured), but I'm wondering how is it possible that 7 years ago on a normal day while goin to university I developed this cheilitis and this deficiency??? Hope someone can help me to understand.

This is a reply to # 2,292,601I think we have a misunderstanding. I mention emu oil because lips don't produce oil. Some people do better with animal based oils than vegetable oils for moisture and healing.
You can buy emu oil from walmart or any health food store. People have used it for generations on all skin conditions. I found that it helped me with inflammation.

I used to get angular cheilitis occasionally and then someone told me it's due to a vitamin deficiency and to eat more green vegetables and take a B complex supplement. It usually started to work after a few days. Just clean up your diet and find a brand you trust---any B complex vitamin supplement should help. Now that I'm more consistent with eating better and getting proper nutritional support (ie, supplements) I no longer get AC. Good luck! - Re: Huge improvement with vit B comp... roma85

It's hard for anyone to figure out what tipped the scales into suffering symptoms from gut inflammation and vitamin absorption issues, but it's probably a lot of things.
I did the same thing as you did for my absorption problems which was to cut out wheat and soy and take glutamine and at one point I thought I was healed because I lost a lot of water weight.
However, the inflammation came back over the span of about 4 months. It came back because I didn't really address the root cause which was candida.
so, it's possible you've healed permanently but it's also possible it's a temporary lull brought on by healthy changes.
I would start probing the possibility of candida, fungus and parasites.
Maybe take apple cider vinegar for three or four days and see if you get any dieoff reaction or get some diatomaceous earth.
Congratulations and I hope it is a permanent healing! But if it's not permanent, at least you know you've gotten closer to a full answer to how you got this way.

I was tested negative for parasites (stool test)and negative for Candida spp (I don't know if it includes Albicans). Anyway I will try and keep you updated. And thanks for your useful message!
