I'm in Cananda as well. Vit D never worked for me until I started using one made from sheep's wool. It seems to absorb into my system differently.
You need to ask the manufacturer...
The vast majority of Vitamin D3 is made from that source. It's the cheapest source of vitamin D3. It's vitamin D2 that you do not want. D2 is often added to many cheaper supplements and even cod liver oil (Seven Seas).
It's fat soluble, so looks like the best way is to consume it with some REAL fatty-saccharides, or good old yogurt thats made from 2% milk or whole milk (not sure if there's a difference lol).
Try some thick Greek yogurt. Anything that has fat and is not pasteurized that much or has additives will work.
