Hi Mia,
Here are a couple of links to former posts which kind of give an indication of what pushed me over the edge and the symptoms that helped me discover my problem. As a teenager, I used tons of topical
Antibiotics for
Acne and also had repeated treatments for respiratory infections. Many of the respiratory infections were likely related to having my wisdom teeth removed because that is when they became frequent. Doctors have no idea what they are doing to our health by prescribing
Antibiotics . Also, if you are not eating hormone and
Antibiotic free animal products, then you are getting dosed all the time with
Antibiotics . I will just say that I believe this is a problem that is not going away. I believe we will continue to see more people like us.

Anyway, currently I am have been on the anti-candida diet for 3 months and I have seen improvement. If I do not stray any from the diet, I feel perfect but I still have oral thrush and lesions on my gums. I would like to culture this just to see if it really is only candida albicans but I would like to speak with the lab person who conducts the test. I do not really go to the traditional docs anymore. Of course you need a doc to order any tests. They wont do it for an individual. I have found doctors to be a waste of my money because they do not believe what you are telling them and they just smile politely like you are crazy. I do have a doc that I use that is about an hour away from me and they could likely order the test. This is the next thing I will do. I might as well go out and buy a microscope and a microbiology book.
So for me, it's continuing the diet, antifungals, probiotics, enemas until I get rid of this. If I can get my bowels working properly, I intend to start flushing. I also would like to check into some colonics. I hear it is expensive but they can clean you out better than you can do yourself. You may think these things sound extreme, I did too when I started. But I have come to realize that there are people further along in their healing than I am and I have decided to follow their lead. While we are all a little different, it is rarely about inventing the wheel.
At the beginning, I was in denial about the whole thing. I didn't want to do the diet. I thought, "How will I live without
Sugar and carbs? Life will not be worth living anymore." Well, I was wrong. Then I started and saw that I had control over how I felt; it made it easy to stick to the diet. Once the cravings go away, it is much easier. If I eat something with too much carb, I immediately begin to feel hungry again and know that I am not ready to eat that food yet. Diet is really the only way. Maybe one day I will be able to have a piece of cake at a party but that day is not today. And believe me, I was a cake and cookie monster even though the other things I ate were healthy.
I wish you luck, strength and resolve in finding your cure.
