Iron absorption occurs mostly in the duodenum and upper jejunum .
"The physical state of iron entering the duodenum greatly influences its absorption however. At physiological pH, ferrous iron (Fe2+) is oxidized to the insoluble ferric (Fe3+) form."
Gastric acid lowers the pH in the proximal duodenum, enhancing the solubility and uptake of ferric iron .
The fallowing cause gastric acid production is impairment
Acid pump inhibitors such as the drug, prilosec, parasites, or ulcers.
Also, a number of dietary factors influence iron absorption. Ascorbate and citrate (calcium) increase iron uptake in part by acting as weak chelators to help to solubilize the metal in the duodenum . Iron absorption is inhibited by plant phytates and tannins. These compounds also chelate iron, but prevent its uptake by the absorption machinery.
"Phytates are prominent in wheat and some other cereals, while tannins are prevalent in -non-herbal- teas."
Lead is taken up by the iron absorption machinery, and blocks iron. lead interferes with a number of important iron-dependent metabolic steps such as heme ( red protien found on all blood cells and gives blood the red color) biosynthesis. lead not only produces anemia, but can impair cognitive development.
"Lead exists naturally at high levels in ground water and soil in some regions..."
Based on the above information, I recommend
A) Ph balance: increase raw diet and reduce processed foods
B)
parasite cleans:
parasites cause iron deficiency in a very big way
C) cut all wheat and non herbal teas out of the diet
D) Juice lots of parsley daily. this is very high in iron. Regular supplements will clog and become tangled in the neurons of the brain.
E) I also recommend the
Water Cure and
Sea Salt to facilitate and regulate
F) liver flush":: for hormonal balance
G) vitamin D" from sun and Calcuim: beans,or spinach
H) Detox Lead: see link
