Certainly sounds like a sinus issue. My teeth have LONG roots. They are right up near the sinuses. I never use things like Afrin, etc. for a cold, however, I do take a spritz or two before flying along with some of Dr. Christopher's Sha-Tea. It, along with drinking lots of water and flushing some saline up there has really helped with my sinus issues. I've used those decompression protection ear plugs, but they were not as effective.
More on sinuses - I had an electrical pain in my teeth. Felt like a bit of lightning was flashing through there. My dentist found nothing and a second opinion found nothing as well. I saw the ENT who said I had inflammation in the sinuses.
I started with nasal irrigation (I now have the waterpik with grossan adapter, it really is THAT good), rubbed BFC (bone flesh and cartilage) along with deep heating balm on the effected area, started drinking licorice/ginger/raw honey tea 1-3x per day. Within 2 days it was 80%+ better. Which is great because the word 'neuralgia' was beginning to creep up in my head....
