I'm wondering if there is a sars cure or effective treatment. What I noticed when I looked into the herb Elder Berry (not the capsules they suck I got the actual raw/dried herb I got it from herbco.com) our entire family got the influenza virus. When our throat starting to get infected we took some of the elder berry (half a teaspoon) and I'm not joking within an hour the tingling disappeared. I read up on elderberry it's the only herb effective against both strains of the influenza a and b virus. What makes me wonder how effective is it towards sars because it's the only herb i've witnessed through experience that can stop viruses on track while others don't respond and it's also used for pneumonia and upper respiratory problems so this can be a really effective treatment those who get to the stage of respiratory problems.

This is a reply to # 564,718To whom it may concern or interest, I am in Hong Kong about twice a month for work, and around the first of March I came down with a severe cough and head cold, and a few days later also experienced some flu-like symptoms and later vomited. At the time I was there, there were a few small news reports of a sickness causing some local hysteria in Guanghzou, China, a short distance to the Hong Kong region. Now that there is some anger at China possibly downplaying or even covering up the extent of the sickness, I believe that it may have been the beginning of SARS.
During the five or six days of being sick, my wife, who also became sick, and I took Propolis, Colloidal Silver , and a lot of thyme and chamomile tea with honey. We also ate a lot of chicken soup. I never went to the doctor although I was beginning to consider doing before the sickness began to ease off. The cough had gone deep enough that I began to think it might have been like pneumonia. It was a nasty enough cold that I suspect now that it might have been SARS or something like it, but there was no concern or hysteria at that point like there is now to scare us further. I am confident that a combination of the steps we took or maybe one in particular was a big help in getting over it. Hopefully this input might be of use to you, but again, I never went to a doctor, and have no firm basis that I might have had it.
I returned from Hong Kong again yesterday, and we are both feeling fine.

Hi Sarsi,
I live a mile away from Toronto and go there regularly without fear.
There hasn't been a new case of SARS in over 10 days and almost every case can be
traced back to contact with the first to become ill ( A mother almost about and her mid forties son.)
They had just returned from a trip to China. Althought the media has not come out and stated this...
the problem seems isolated to the Asian community including doctors at hospitals. I wish the news would
be more fothcoming about this.
There is maybe one case where the infection has seemingly spread without close contact with the
original and that was about 20 days ago.
You may have heard that the W.H.O. has cancelled the SARS advisory for Toronto...
So... come on Oooooover!! THere will be a real bargain for those who need a hotel... No taxes on
the room rates for the whole summer. Add that to the US $ being worth $1.45 and you have some serious
discounts for "mericans".
Maybe all those who were glad to see Canadians visit NY after 9-11 will return the favor now that we need
the economic stimulation.

This is a reply to # 564,718Yes, elderberry extract from israel is the best, but others I have used, esp in children. I use other stronger things to cure things like sars.

This is a reply to # 564,731I took minimum 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon tops twice or three times a day. So for a toddler you go by the weight if it's half the weight of mine my weight is around 180pounds then if the child was say 90pounds thats 1/8th to 1/4 teaspoon of the berries. You can also boil water and put the berries in hot water so the juice goes into the water then crush the berries, or just crush the elderberries, i usually just eat them raw best price and best place (worked for me on bad coughs/flu's) is at herbco.com. Here is a link that talks about it at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uid... national medicine database its freaky it's effective against both influenza A and B strains also adrenovirus and respiratory synctial which is respirator/pneumonia problems which is similar to sars. you know whats freaky if you type elderberry hiv or elder berry hiv they have archives about it inhibiting viral growth in hiv whats even freakier they say in 10days it made the viral load of hiv non-dectectable on certain strains, thats AMAZING makes me wonder why the hell are people spending thousands of dollars on AZT when they can buy elderberries, even on some strains of HIV's it slowed down the growth so I can bet this SARS virus worst case scenario it slows it down to allow the immune system to give it a chance to recooperate produce antibodies to respond to the virus without getting really sick or best case it'll knock the virus out of the system fast. I'd probably try Colloidal Silver i never tried it when i had the influenza virus though only elderberry's and I tried the capsule form of elderberry's from naturesway they did not stop the tingling in the throat or did anything for my health only when i bought the raw dry berries at herbco.com makes you wonder sometimes what you are buying if it's supposed to work in the first place. What's funny i used up the 1/4 pound elderberries i bought a full 1 pound of berries when i saw the effect and i tried many other herbs that didn't do nothing (only when i didn't have a viral flu would they work but then dropped off when i got a viral flu) except elderberry so i give it thumbs up. I bought a full pound but i went got the vaccine afterwards for influenza (was free) so i didn't need to take anymore elderberries but NOW that I hear of this SARS virus and it's somehow related to influenza virus I'm glad I still have it lying around my house just in case of a emergency. All these are just guesses and no true reasons to support. The fact it originates from Guangdong has to be found out. But somehow, Guandong and Hongkong side has been slow to take countermeasures, thus leading to more cases of SARs.Don't Let Sickness Drag You Down

Reading alot about some cases of SARS, its possible symptoms and its causes, leads me to a theory that this world threat consists of different virii (severe cold and flu) that compromises the health of a person infected. With these information, I came up with an experiment that seems to be very effective. Since then I use the same method until one time I substitute water by LAMBANOG. The next day, my colds are gone and i feel much better and relaxed. Any wine would do not necesarily to be LAMBANOG but natural processed and herbal would be safer. This theory which I have come up is based on experience and is not yet proven. But worth a try..

This is a reply to # 564,718(from Australia)SARS symptoms are high fever, short of breath and other flu like symptoms. But having a sore throat and a runny nose with coughing doesn't mean the person has SARS. Note the term S.A.R.S. SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME. Personally, I had a very high fever and non stop coughing with lots of mucus. The cure was(cheap)water(moderate)chinese vicks(expensive)antibiotics. I doubt I had S.A.R.S. Read somewhere that Canada has already created a vaccine. That is probably the solution. This topic is not to be taken lightly.

This is a reply to # 564,718"I have a very interesting story to tell:I have been an airline pilot for over 14 years and have been extremely healthy all of my life (other than a few allergies). I have spent the last 2 years flying professional hockey teams all over the U.S. and Canada.
In February of 2003, I became ill with a virus that turned into pneumonia with a high fever and diarrhea. This pneumonia hit very hard and I was convinced that I would need hospitalization. It soon spread to my 3 year old daughter.
I found out that 2 of the players on one of the Hockey teams that I had flown had been exposed to SARS and were in quarantine.
