Its not worth it.... it causes major issues with the liver and it also can cause serious psychological problems..including serious depression. There are other options that work way better and will not ruin your body....

Don't do it. I tried this 10 years ago and regret it. I dried out my skin and mucous membranes and guess what, after 1 month, my Acne came back and worse than ever. I was out about $400. What a waste. I still struggle with it every day. I have now turned to alternatives such as Colon Cleanses and now the liver flush. After reading somers post about how the flushes got rid of her Acne is an inspiration. I am doing a second flush this weekend. Good luck.

Please consider a few more options. Accutane is very toxic and will make you suffer terribly. I've read many stories in this forum alone about regrets. It's not a cure, and while it may stop the symptoms of Acne for a short time or while you take it, Acne will come back and worse then ever. There is no magic pill, unfortunitly. :( BUT... there are just a few steps you can take to REDUCE your Acne dramatically! Let me share with you my success, and hopefully you will have the means to try and to succeed WITHOUT side affects! (Please consider your life worth more then the Acne you suffer. You can defeat it!)

First of all, I highly recommend a Zapper (I used the $10 Zapper form http://www.zapperplans.com) When I began using the Zapper, I experianced about a 65-85% reduction in acne after the first 3 weeks of daily using the Zapper. Not quite the magic pill, but amazing and probably as much as Accutane could do. It didn't stop the problem completely, but it seemed to be the main thing that helped. I had a lot of blackheads before, and come to think of it, I don't any more! I've been Zapping daily for about 8 months, and now am on a maintanance of 1-3 times per week.(except when I am exposed to things)

The next major step, I thought was dairy. Well, dairy made about a 5% difference, so I haven't
really stayed with it. It could be the last 5% that makes a difference, so you may wish to try it.

Now, Vitmamin C powder in about 1-2 tsps a day REALLY cleared up my skin a lot. I don't take it everyday now, I rotate between it and Calcium Carobonate, and MSM. (ALL are inexpensive and very helpful for balancing your pH and healing your body.) I figured out a great way to take the Vit. C powder in a Stevia-Tangerine drink //www.curezone.org/blogs/m.asp?f=327&i=9 (You can get Stevia White Powder, Vitamin C Powder and Calcium Carbonate from http://www.vitaglo.com all for good prices, and that is where I get mine.)

The other major thing is soaps and chemicals. The more natural you can go with your shampoo, body wash, bar soap etc. the better. Cleanliness is really important, but cleaning with harmful chemicals can really cause more damage, and especially it's important to wash your face with barely-warm water and either no soap at all or homemade bar soap (something you are absolutly sure is natural). Rinsing with Colloidal Silver provides very good protection against bacteria, and you can put it in a spray bottle to spray after you shower.

I hope this is not overwhelming to you. It really does make a huge difference, and it could save your life! With all the above information to start you out, I will tell you ahead of time, after these, to be completely free of Acne, you will need to have a healthy liver. You may decide to do a liver flush, and also Kombucha Tea is very beneficial for your liver. If you are taking any supplemental oils, and not taking vitamin E, add it. I was taking fish oil, flax oil, and borage oil for 4-5 months, and noticed that my skin was getting really bad, and leaving marks. I read a study that oils need extra vitamin E to prevent rancidity. Within a week of adding the vitamin E, my skin was 80% better, and has continued to improve. I am now working on the spots, and am finally finding relief from the stress of breakouts. I have since reduced my dosage of E, its been a little over a month since I started it, and my skin is still looking better, and still improving.

Now here is a tip. I have since read that all poly-oils, cooking oils of various types, my also increase one's need for vitamin E. And reflecting on the past year to 18 months I realize that under my chin was frequently broken out, but since it wasn't as obvious, I didn't worry as much about it, except for the tenderness. Increasing my rancid-oil load, moved the breakouts up my cheeks, and to the side of my face that most breakouts avoided. And I didn't even eat a lot of fried foods. So basically, you can try to cut out all poly-oils(including restaurants), or supplement with vitamin E. I also have started cooking with only coconut oil, but didn't have skin improvements while using the fish oil until I added E. BTW, it seems that every 1000mg of oil(typical amount in 1 caps) needs 20IU of E. Be sure to include a factor for oils from meals at home, and outside.

I have also found a sensitivity to both citrus fruits and tomato-based foods. I can eat these things, but I had to take an extended break from them, and can only eat a little in any one dish several days apart. Otherwise, I get big, painful, red pimples all over my face, chin, and neck. So try a short, 5-7 day, Elimination Diet of several foods. See if your skin clears then add them back one at a time. One every couple of days. I used Dr. Crooks Yeast Connection Cookbook to help me, but if you look into it online, you can find other effective approaches to the short diet.

These are just a few of the things that I am positive have actually worked for me. Each person is different, and you may discover your own breakout triggers. I have also done parasite, bowel, and liver cleansing, and continue these things on a schedule or periodically. I have used the zapper, and it has helped stop a scratchy throat from becoming a full sore throat and cold. Unfortunately, I was still full of rancid oil at the time, and haven't zapped since clearing up. I'll have to try it again.

I used accutane twice about eight years ago. while I was on it my skin cleared up completely. I also had to use eye drops constantly and nose sprays to reduce bloody noses. it cuts your oil production to 10% of normal. I looked great but was pretty uncomfortable. also, they say that you should not get pregnant for a month after being done but my pharmacist, who happened to be on the board to approve accutane, told me that it isn't actually out of your system for two years. also my Acne came back both times at which point my dermatologist gave me a rash cream and it turned out that most of what we thought for years was Acne was a rash and went away within a week.
A friend of mine, who was also contemplating accutane for severe acne, just started using coloidal silver on her skin after she washes her face every day and her skin is almost completely clear. good luck to you.

My son took accutane 9 months ago. He was 16 and had suffered from Acne for 4 or 5 year and was starting to scar. I had tried everything recommended on this site and many others, Apple vinegar, tee-tree oil, soap, toothpaste, Antibiotics , creams, B5 - nothing worked, finally my doctor said if he did not got accutane he would be badly scared for life. I was very worried as I had read alot of bad stuff about it, but we decided to try it. It was a miracle, it worked, his skin in so clear. We made sure he ate a really good diet, lots of fruit, stayed of fatty foods, definatley no alcohol. He suffered no side effects at all apart from very very dry skin. He look and feel so much better now. I hope this helps anyone who is considering it - you hear alot of bad stuff about the drug, but most 'cured' sufferers dont return to these forums and post again.

i developed cystic Acne when i was 18, i tired it all, and eventually ended up on accutane. i will tell you that i personally had NO side effects except dry lips, dry nose and dry eyes. My Acne did not worsen, as they say it might after the first few weeks. It totally cleared me up for 8 years. About 6 months ago however, my cystic Acne returned. I am now on Accutane again. Ive been on it for 2 months and i feel fine. Some people do ended up taking more than one cycle of Accutane, but hey 8 years of clear skin isnt bad.
