But there is also the aspect that Spirit owns this forum- blog- advertising space etc and he has changed much during this last renovation and several times before. This time,Whether purposefully or thru computer error- it would be difficult to prove

In certain instances it is with purpose "to protect the innocent"
Of course I am always reminded, when I hear that phrase, what are the innocent doing that requires protection in the form of "post obliteration"?

I am reminded of one of the highly respected posters on the Ask Curezone Team telling me during an in person session "Try looking Deeper" and I did.

"For sure you cannot alter posts in any way other than for obvious spelling, punctuation errors (with reasonable notice to author) which cause the post to be illegible and most forums stay away from even that due to liability issues"

Perhaps this was meant only in terms of theoretical, loosley/legally speaking, such as "legally, you cannot......". Aside from what may or may not be deemed legal (it's so difficult to to keep up with these days), even in the somewhat limited but vastly murky realm of copyright law, in terms of how present reality applies here at CureZone, I and anyone for sure can alter posts without exception. The forum editor and the way the software is setup for this privilege makes this part pretty easy...... may not be considered legal (not many acts are these days), but it certainly can be done.

One thing that stands out on CureZone in this respect compared to other web forums I frequent, most (but not all) allow the original author a limited time to edit/correct/make changes/deletions. Some forums give you 7 days or so, other forums give you up to a month, some give you only a few days, but whatever this time is, after it expires, the original author is then locked out from making any furhter editing changes, whether they be spelling/grammar tweaks or wholesale deletion of paragraphs and or the entire post all together.

Getting back to the legal aspect for another moment, after spending a few years getting accustomed to and seeing how things happen across various forums at other web sites out there on the web.... learning the ropes, so to speak, a lesson was learned early on that no matter whatever the literal laws may be, the informal laws of this particular jungle also seem to be, so to speak, that such forums are being provided by somebody who pays the bills for the servers, T1 lines, disk space, elecricity, floor space, etc. Regardless of what can and cannot be done based on legal convention, the person paying said bills pretty much has free reign to call all the shots, whatever and however they may act them out, whether or not they are backed up by so-called formal laws means little to me in this respect. I do not seee such users of "free service" having much standing, moral moreso than legal, from which to argue from should that need arise, no matter how the ownder may elect to maintain/archive/alter/delete/massage the content being stored on their equipment, no matter how I may find valid reason to argue over. It's not that I like or prefer it this way, just stating an observation. After having been indescriminately bumped off other forums, some of which even took my money for the privilege, I realize now that at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what my thoughts - likes and dislikes (or the thoughts of other voluntary users of public-network-resources) may be. Such is life, I do not expect this aspect of it to change anytime soon. In the back of my mind, there is the thought that should I ever become really motivated to try changing this situation, I'd most likely y attempt this by paying the bills to start up my own forum wherein I can call all the shots however I see fit.
