hi
i would like to share my experience with swf!
i found it really great the first few times i did it - so much energy, clean feeling after! it was amazing for me, and i was very happy to do it. i have no problems chugging things, so the swf was easy to get used to.
then i had a disaster. i wasnt thinking - on my rest day between swfs, i broke my fast - just was not thinking!! so then i had a bowel obstruction when i took my swf the next day. the swf stayed inside my bowels for 7 hours it was a very nightmare experience to say the least - very scary and uncomfortable.
during those 7 hours i tried everything to get the obstruction moving - exercise, massage, drinking more water, fennel tea, by the end i was chugging down olive oil like there was no tomorrow. finally in desperation, i took a dose of
Epsom Salts (which my body cannot tolerate!) and two hours later everything moved through. needless to say, bowel obstructions can be so dangerous, not to mention it took my body a week to recover from it.
i think this demonstrates that you can never quite know where you are with the swf. some times it can be amazing, some times it can be the worst experience of your life. and worse, you have no control over which way it turns out.
of course, if you are taking laxative tea and fasting like in
The Master Cleanse there is less chance of having a problem...but still the lack of control is not a good thing when you are cleansing in my opinion. with swf, there is the chance of putting your body through serious physical trauma, something that is very at odds to what you are trying to achieve by cleansing, when you should be doing everything you can to support and help the body.
in my opinion, enemas would support the body by giving a helping hand in removing toxins, whereas the swf is a forced purge. from my experience, ive found its best to let your body do the work not force it to go through cleansing that you impose on it. listening to your body when it needs help (eg by having a cleansing crisis) you can give extra support through enemas as required. plus im sure there are benefits to enemas (eg strengthening the bowel muscles) which i am sure swf does not do. also with enemas, you have retention time, whereas swf just goes straight through.
i still have not got the courage up to do another swf. i am waiting for an enema kit to come in the mail. i think this sums up the whole issue!
