I've been struggling with this issue, as my Candida was introduced two-fold .. first by a year of
Antibiotics and second, by the insertion of a cathether into my bladder during surgery in December. My response is "Ohhh yeah it's possible you have Candida in your bladder ... your symptoms are all the same as mine and my urine culture came back positive for Candida Glabrata."
I would suggest insisting on a culture rather than just a dipstick test and ask the doctor to have the culture grown for at least 30 days. My first report came back without a high enough reading and it was the second report, which had allowed the culture to grow for 30 days that had the high levels of Candida.
I don't know the BEST doc to see, but I saw an Internist, Urologist, and now that they diagnosed it, they passed me off to an Infectious Disease specialist.
Unfortunately I think diagnosis was easier than treatment. I've been on Diflucan for a month (100mg/day), Yeast Cleanse, Probiotics, CystoProtek, diet change (try to remove sugar, added lots kefir, saurkraut, etc.), colonics, homeopathics ("Bladder Irration" by Hyland's has helped tremendously ... I always have some on hand).
Unfortunately with our situation, the diet issues and medicine issues are two-fold ... you have to treat the Candida, but also treat the inflamation and irritation in the bladder. Wishing you all the best ... I know what a pain these symptoms are.
