I hade the iud placed. had it in for 3 week when I started to have terrible side effects. I know my body well, so when it started, I didnt hestiate to have it removed. I didnt get my pd for a year so I went to see the dr, they drew blood work and said that I was in early moderate menapause. I fel that this iud threw me into menapause b/c im to young, was a lade bloomer (didnt get my pd until i was 17). my mother is 75 and still gets an occational pd ( she was also a late bloomer). my sister just had a baby at 42. and my oldest sister is 49 and still gets a pd. is any one else haveing such a problem and what steps did you take if any I NEED HELP!!!

hELLO, I can understand you very well, because when I was 20 I used the BC pill for about 6 months, had horrible side effects too, discontinued BC pill use... and since then I have low progesterone unbalance .
I have had maybe 8 periods in 6 years after the BC pill! Luckily enough, I have been able to conceive a baby 3 years ago. I never had another period after delivery so far. Many things may have played a role including dietary changes , but I am firmly convinced that what screwed up everything was the hormonal load from the BC pill!
I find an interesting fact that you were a late bloomer. I was one as well ( 1st period at 16). I guess there is something to it. Maybe we are more reactive to hormones than the average woman is.
I am sure there is a way out of it as I am sure there is a way to fix my own situation. I am taking herbal supplements and trying nutritional approaches ( vegetarian/vegan approach seems to worsen my situation) . Maybe an herbal female formula could help you get back on track.

This is a reply to # 940,300yes, i would try to find a reputable herbalist or a homoeopath in your area. acupuncture can help regulate hormones also. but do make sure that whoever you go to is properly qualified in their particular field. and stick to a generally good healthy Diet of plenty of fresh oily fish, vegetables, fruit, lots of water etc. good luck.x
