I gave up yoga for lent because I wanted to go to church in the morning. I used to do my hot yoga in the morning but that went by the wayside when I started attending mass regularly. Anyway, I started the rawfood diet for lent and am getting more energy so here's to bringing back more yoga.
What prompted this post? I was sitting in the room of solitude this morning praying after a tough night at work. Any reason why I can't wake up in the morning and say hello to God first? Nope. Plus I was starting a visualisation/meditation when my mother called from Trinidad otherwise I would have been in there a lot longer.

I have a question about Yoga. I am a Christian and I was wonder how it affects a person. Can you give me any ideas, advice or anything.
I have never done Yoga, but I have always wanted to, but have not since I found out that Yoga is really a religion, and I am already a Christian.
Your take on it, please?

It's a religion for some. Not for me. I'm already a Roman Catholic christian but I did practice a lot of bikram yoga when I lived in New York.
A quote from Pope Benedict:
Pope Benedict XVI has warned that yoga "can degenerate into a cult of the body."
I've also read other quotes from the Popes saying that yoga practiced for the health benefits is OK. Keep in mind the rule should be if it is taking the focus away from Jesus Christ and elevating yourself, taking away from the gospel, moving a person away from the Bible then watch out. It's the same reason why I'm debating going to kundalini yoga instructor training. I don't want to spend thousands learning something I don't believe in.
I say investigate the style of yoga. Bikram yoga is the least spiritual of all because his take is that the mere practice of the yoga positions will make a person spiritual. He is absolutely right and why I may go for his teacher training instead.
