  • Tired of being "poor"   by  Ren     13 y     19,125       3 Messages Shown       Blog: Uncovering The Starchild Within
I know REAL poor people in third world countries. Not even in third world but my mother's country, I have poor family in the mountains. I'm talking the American concept of poor in giving up my iphone and getting a cheapo mobile phone. I'm talking about not buying vitamins, more premium health food, paying my mortgage, paying my student loans (I'm in forebearance). Tired of my husband being underemployed because of the real estate market crash...

I have this nagging deep feeling that I don't have more money because I've not ASKED enough. Am I asking amiss like the Bible warns against? Is there something in me that would forget about my Lord and Saviour Jesus once my bills are paid on time and I see my mom more often! Maybe God knows something I don't. Anyhow, being depressed because of my family's financial struggles can't be good.

I'm thinking of doing things differently. Something spiritual, something positive with regards to my money situation. Off to bed guys. I've not meditated in a while and I missed mass on Sunday because I work two jobs LOL. I'm not a rolemodel Roman Catholic or a master meditator/creative visualiser! Yet.

Oh I know well about being poor Ren. I was so poor when my husband died that I did not have even a penny to my name. No heat,no food and not even bread. Things changed.

I was on charity for 7 years and things got worse. One week I was hungry and there was no money. I had heard of people who turned everything over to God and they recovered. So I made a decision not to ask anyone for money or help.

Funny, I had this thought come to me to look for work. So I wrote to a company for a job writing and the fools hired me. I knew nothing about writing but I was hungry. I learned to write and I learned much more.

Today I live in a very expensive home so large that even my neighbors are shocked. I have luxuries most do not see in Jordan and yes I have tons of food. I attribute this all to depending on Allah and no one else.

If you or anyone is poor quit complaining to your neighbors and start asking God to help.
