Backstory:
We are building a bridge between Healthy Eating and Circus. Where do we each begin to turn the tide toward a healthier lifestyle for our kids? Last year & this, we brought healthy Eden Foods
organic popcorn to the Organic Day at Circus Vargas Feb 26, 2018 & March 11, 2019. We sampled organic foods from J R Organics CSA Farm at these events and set a tone to have a cart with organic goodies creating @circus Vargas memories.

More than 100 years ago, the dangerous decline of overall health of our nation was forewarned in a book titled “Starving America,” which was written by a leading health advocate of that time. Now, a new golden Era is upon us, where more and more of us recognize that simply through eating real foods such as an organically-grown bunch of carrots - and through supporting our local farmers and growing some of our own food—we are now reversing Starving America.

Once upon a time, kids dreamed of running away to the Circus! Now you are invited to celebrate not only a new Golden Era of healthy food but an appreciation of healthy wholesome entertainment at Circus Vargas.

I want to honor the courage of my dear friend Burt Lo who is in the hospital now working through some of the side effects that go with chosing the Chemo and Radiation route on his Cancer Healing Journey.

While I was monitoring Burt’s meticulous record on FB of his passage toward health, I was having a rough time Feb 7 following my own natural choices that include my remedy #CircusVargasAsHealer.

I want to update that I have started a regimen with Phillip A. Wilson’s powerful healing tool, the Relax Far Infrared Healing Light Sauna.

My second day Feb 6, I used the sauna twice, once for ten and then 15 minutes toward evening. I woke up the morning of the opening day of Circus Vargas with extreme bleeding, that can happen to md when I increase circulation too fast. This condition, called Hematuria in the western conventional medical model, happened to me periodically. It gets scary and brings up all kinds of emotional and psychological issues. The bleeding stops when I pass blood clots.

So what to do? It was opening night of the six week San Diego tour. It was also very cold weather for me, and I am taking Laboratorios Boiron’s @ Oscillo to to stay on top of potential flu-like symptoms.

I invited lovely friends to share in the first night experience. It was my first experience seeing “The Greatest of Ease!” —the 2019 theme.

My goal was to simply get through and I was monitoring my comfort/discomfort levels through the show. I wasn’t exactly on top of my game.

Glad I saw Opening night year. I am spending this Friday morning blogging on FB and taking my favorite remedies now that include Essiac Tea, Turkey Tail from Host Defense fresh picked nettle tea from our garden.

I am celebrating and relieved I made it through opening night and also have in my hands copies of the February issue of The Life Connection Magazine. My story with the help of Adrienne Prince and Steve Hays is now in print. There is and another longer story online. Both are called #circusVargasAsHealer.

Picking up where I left off in 2018.
What would it be like if kid’s attending the circus got a taste of organic and healthier choices? What if Circus, a place of amazing mind inspiring daredevil feats was also a place to see Nature’s untamed heirloom creations—squashes and gourds that yearned to be adopted as part of our healthy lifestyles and diets?

That’s the dream I am planting with the staff and co-owners of the fabulous @Circus Vargas, California’s amazing traveling spectacular family entertainment under the Big Top!

Developing my 2019 ideas to integrate #HeirloomExpo with Circus Vargas #CircusVargas.

Adrienne Prince and I are at the #ChicoMall with my favorite Tinos Clowns who are a big hit with the kids of all ages at this incredible family entertainment.

, in Chico, we did our #PetCelebritySquash & Gourd Adoption program at the final performance of this spectacular show that is a core healing experience for me.

Yesterday, I was asking myself why I am so deeply affected by this experience.

For decades I have felt a sense of lost love as many of us with members of my immediate blood relations. My mom died when I was 12 years old and my dad was busy attending to other responsibilities when I was in my youth.

This circus is made of intertwined families who work together in a daily basis. Grandparents move from center stage to supporting the infrastructure of the show. Their offspring are raised in the traveling environment, the youngsters developing great talents by the time they are teens. It’s totally fascinating!!!

As an example the three clowns are related! Miguel Mota, ringmaster, is the father of Brian Angel, the centerpiece of the 2018 show. Johnny Valentin, my favorite clown, is Miguel’s brother in law. The mom of Brian is also in the show as a performer.

Just talked to my sister Vivian!!! She loved the Circus Vargas in Burbank, California!!! She said it was the best circus she ever attended without animals!! She said she is ready to go again!!!

I went no less that 10 times during the San Diego, Escondido, Temecula and Ontario tours.

It completely captivated me the first time and I wanted to get to know the performers.

This is a fantastic family entertainment, not to be missed, during its California engagements up the coast through the Fall.

Many of the performers grew up living in the circus.

Some of the families are 8th generation circus family and they are a living legacy of testing the limits of what is humanly possible.

The owners, Katya Arata Quiroga and Nelson Quiroga Tabares are from well known circus families throughout Europe and South America. Their two daughters are among the stars of the show.

Some of my Facebook friends know I have been following a #RekindlingOfFaith Journey since I was diagnosed with a kidney carcinoma last August. I was able to bring my kidney function levels of Creatinine and GFR into normal ranges of health through following an organic and macrobiotic diet, and through my work #PlantYourDream.

My health picture went down when I was in a rear ended collision March 29. I have been managing the back pain with opiates. I finally get an MRI prescribed this upcoming Wednesday for my lumbar thoracic spine.

I have had quite a healing team. The Circus Vargas is part of my healing Dream. I feel their was something there for me to explore. I met this circus last September and I saw an opportunity to introduce the kids who attend to the world of nature as expressed through her original Heirloom Squashes and gourds.
I imagined a collaboration between. Promoting this circus and promoting the The 8th annual National Heirloom Exposition, Santa Rosa, CA Sept11-12-13, 2018.

As I began to meet the owners of the circus, I learned they were very much into organic foods.

I see a natural fit here.

I dreamed in a seed dream a world filled with laughter,
applause, skill, agility, elegance,
beauty, and community.
I found that world alive and thriving at
California's own Circus Vargas!


I highly recommend you welcome some lighthearted moments into your life through meeting members of the Circus Vargas performers who do a Meet and Greet after each show.

One of the most amazing part of the show are the many roles each performer plays!

Tad Payne-Tobin
is the guide for the 30 minute Pre show featuring kid activities. Tad is also the catcher on the high trapeze, and in numbers of the pirate performances.

I have seen Mariella Quiroga
and Yasmin Rodriguez Rivera
selling tickets in the
Box office about 15 minutes before their opening act! Celeste Fernandez Rivera was helping out in the face painting area right before going on stage.

The #LosTunos Clowns are all related! Brian Angel, who is featured throughout the show is the son of Miguel Mota,the Ringmaster, and Johnny, the other really great clown, is the brother in law of Miguel.

Numbers of the performers and stage managers, and staff are related! How fascinating!!!

Annabel Bachliyski enjoyed our inaugural Organic Day at Circus Vargas, Feb 26. She enjoyed the J R Organics CSA Farm strawberries freshly picked by Goyo Rodriguez, a few hours before the Circus Vargas that now moves on to Temecula, California March 8-19, 2018.

I am feeling spellbound by the artistry and openness I am experiencing as I meet members of Circus Vargas.

Miguel Mota left, ringmaster for the show that runs through March 5 at Westfield North County, is my latest FB friend. Johnny Valentin, right, guides a number of clever clown routines.

The gift i am bringing to the show is called Organic Day at Circus Vargas. It will take place 5:30 pm-9:30 pm, Monday, Feb 26.

Opening night, Feb 22, was a packed and happy house. It was a trial run for me to try things for the Feb 26 event.



I had made a quick stop at the North Park Thursday Market, where I gathered some of San Diego’s wild and untamed produce from Goyo Rodriguez, eldest son of Joe Rodriguez Jr, who first led the fifth generation farming family into organics in the mid 80’s.

I shared the fruits and veggies with members of the cast, as well as sharing other goodies I picked up at the Hillcrest Farmers Market last Sunday.

The elder, Vittorio Arata, an eighth generation circus family member, received a loaf of spelt organic non- GMO bread that I bought from Prager Brothers Artisan Breads. He was totally enthused to receive a head of fresh picked lettuce that J R Organics CSA Farm makes available every week at their many farmers markets throughout the San Diego metroplex and into LA county.

As someone who at times could feel trapped in the limited range of my physical body, it inspires me to meet 16-year-old Steven Ferreri, who is already traveling to and from Europe to perform on the tightrope.

He practices one hour a day on his skill set. His mom is also part of the 60-person team that moves from place to place up California each year.

I brought two of Dennis Stowell‘s Cocktail Grapefruit and gave one to Steven and one to Tad Payne-Tobin, the catcher on the high trapeze.
They were very appreciative!

Each time I go to this event I feel that I am being fed from the font of joy that this tightly woven community creates.

It feels like a great honor for me to begin to see into the circus lineage that permeates this show.

Last night, I watched 20-year old Mariella Quiroga, daughter of co-owner Katya Arata Quiroga, helping to sell tickets as I approached the sales window. 20 minutes later, she was in costume and performing in numerous roles during the two hour show. What energy, talent and elegance! She is as fluid on the high trapeze as she is in pirate costume and swordplay. The acrobatic routine that she does with her younger 15-year-old sister is true artistry.

One of my goals last night was to meet the popcorn maker. There are still a couple of details to work out, but one way or another, Eden Foods Gourmet popcorn will be making its debut under the big top Monday night! Two traditions that upholding integrity — real food and family — will coalesce.

A highlight for me on opening night was being able to do the #plantyourdream experience with Nelson Quiroga Tabares, husband of Katya. Vittorio also planted intentions with us. Amazingly, Nelson, who had been dressed in a sport suit, later took his turn in costume, on the trapeze.
One of Ringmaster Miguel’s archived videos shows Nelson doing a triple summersault - an extremely difficult trapeze trick - during his earlier years with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

In the background, at the indoor concession stand, was one of the little grandchildren, watched over by Nelson’s mom.

Something inside me thrills to get on a first name basis with circus royalty - a family preserving an artistic lifestyle that matters to me.

The next morning, I imagined Steven and Tad were feasting on some of the sweetest and most luscious grapefruit nature makes.


On to Organic Day at Circus Vargas eve Monday, Feb 26, 2018:

We will have two tables, one with organic fruit and veggie samples offered by Goyo Rodriguez, and one table where Adrienne Prince will #PlantYourDream with patrons, as they admire our Gete Okosomin squash, grown out from seeds that were recovered from an urn buried for 800 years!

Every time I set out to make friends here, I feel met and rewarded.

I would be elated to share this rare find of Circus Vargas with you.

With a simple seed planted in a pot of grass, may Circus Vargas performers be surrounded with utmost safety as they go beyond what many of us imagine as humanly possible.

May the joy, awe and wonder they bring to so many, be richly rewarded.

Organic Day at Circus Vargas Welcomes You!

The Circus Vargas is a California circus that travels up the coast for much of the year. They will be in Escondido from Feb 22-March 5.

Monday Feb 26 will be Organic Day. You are invited!

My first encounter with this classic circus entertainment occurred last September in Petaluma, California, shortly after the National Heirloom Exposition 2017. The 8th Annual event will be held Sept 11-12-13, 2018 at Sonoma Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California.

I was continuing The Enchanted Garden Mobile's Journey to Win Back Our Sacred Seeds. My ‘68 VW van was filled with heirloom squash from the Expo

I was gripped by a dream that one day kids would have the opportunity to be introduced to healthier eating and nature’s bounty - through this engaging, community-oriented entertainment of the circus.

Fast forward to 2018. When #CircusVargas came to San Diego in January, I met the owners of the show and learned that they already enjoy organic food whenever possible!

I began to meet members of the cast.

Thus, the first concept of an @OrganicDay at Circus Vargas was born.

From this small dream, let’s see what can grow.

Every fall, for more than a month I travel to NorCal to tell folks about the #HeirloomExpo that happens in September.

I am excited by the idea of collaborating between our two events, the Circus and the Expo. It will be even more a dream come true to uplift the spirit and create our world as an Enchanted Garden.

The Circus Vargas is owned by an 8th generation circus family.

This is California’s very own circus!

Jere and Emilee Gettle of Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, (who put in The National Heirloom Exposition) are now friends on FB with Katya!

I envision handing out coupons for both events while on The Enchanted Garden Mobile's Journey To Win Back Our Sacred Seeds.

I want to be in NorCal for the Gravenstein Apple Fair in early August.

My promotion for #heirloomexpo begins March 8 with Climate Collaborative Day at Natural Products Expo West & Engredea. On March 13, I always celebrate my very own #organicday at Downtown
Disney District. We sit and enjoy a wheatgrass juice at Jamba Juice.
