Blog: BLogs Frequently Asked Questions
Let say your blog contains 15 messages.
Then, your blog has 1 main blog page + 15 message pages + 1 description page
That is 1 + 15 + 1 = 17 pages.
Views to all those pages are counted by main counter.
If you add together numbers from 15 message pages, the sum should always be less then the main counter cause main counter is not only counting views to those 15 pages, it is also counting all views to 2 extra pages (main blog page + description page).
Ther are no separate counters counting views to description or views to main blog page.
If a blog has 25 messages, that blog has 2 pages listing all messages, and all views to those 2 pages are also counted.
Blog that has 25 messages has 28 pages.

- Blog Counter by Liora Leah

Given the way that blogs are counted, why do you have the "TOP 50 BLOGS" list (actually, top 100 are listed) go by the total overall number of "hits" when this number in no way reflects the number of times that people are interested enough to read the blog entries, not just the blog title page and blog description? It would seem to me to be more accurate to list the "top" blogs by the count of hits to the blog entries themselves, and not include those to just the blog title page and description page.
A blog could have a great, catchy title, attracting lots of initial "hits" yet not have that many actual readers. For example, my own blog, as of today a few minutes ago, has been "hit" 7358 times, but the actual blog entry "hits", when added up, are just 1458. I would take this to mean that the title to my blog attracted at least 5900 people who, after looking at the blog title page and/or reading the description, were not interested in going on to read the blog entries themselves. (Said number of uninterested people could actually be much higher, of course, and the number of interested people much lower, as a small core of interested readers could be responsible for the 1458 number by reading multiple blog entries.)
Thanks for your response!

- blog stats by Ready2Rapture

Is it possible to put the number of views to individual blog entries on the main blog page, so we don't risk hitting our own entries too many times just to see which entries are generating the most interest? Maybe a "view stats for this blog" page or something?
