I know what you mean about the internal squabbles and personal preferences, I see too much of that all over (I would hope that The Lord would only see that as idiosyncratic), but I think that if I made it a habit to 'police' or referee most situations it would only make it worse (I am not the judge), it depends alot on the 'bickerants' (participants of a bickering match). You can tell when a person isn't serious about arriving at a meaningful and productive conclusion (proper and effective communication) or just wants controversy so they can 'flex their muscles' and cause doubt, uncertainty, insecurities, emotional instability because they have their own secret agenda. Couple that with my ability to be opinionated (MY sword of the spirit can get out of hand if I don't control myself well) and I think sometimes that it's better left to The Lord (I guess it's the same as parents realize they shouldn't control every single word of their children), I don't know, it's a hard call sometimes. Neither does The Lord follow us around looking for reasons to chastise us, He does chastise, but not constantly in order to take the joy out of life, or if we don't need it, or if we are not in the state of mind to understand it properly as correction (as long as it's inconsequential). If I want to wear shorts in 17 degree weather, The Lord laughs just as my dad did (idiosyncracies, stupid idiosyncracies, but at least I will be a stupid inhabitant of heaven, at least a few others will be too).

Many people can only feel comfortable in a narrow corridor of reality and their own 'controlled environment' (their happiness NEEDS a personal laboratory, THEIR space) and they neurotically and frantically need to maintain that. Quiet people (not indifferent people) don't have these insecurities, it's the noisy people that are always trying to get other people's approval and attention that have those insecurities. If you speak truth to them, they will resent you because truth challenges their empire, but only the REAL darkness will RUN from the truth, otherwise, they will hear every word you say because they are BRAVEHEARTS and will withstand the truth. Truth is from God and is a double edged sword that divide even a spirt of error from the soul of a human being.

Many so-called Christians like to rebuke (egotistical attitude, or is it that they need to redeem their conscience?), some would consider it unethical to stone their fellow churchgoer, and some would downright stomp their feet and refuse to stone their fellow human being (yeah, I'm glad I can refuse and leave the judgement to God).
