Hi Paul,
I apologize for my late response... life has a way of keeping me occupied. :-)
To answer your question, I started UT when I got chicken pox as an adult in January, 2004. It was so bad I couldn't sleep for days it seemed like. I made a decision right then that I was going to choose health and never be ill again (Lord willing), and that I would do everything I knew to do to get there.
I had heard of uropathy on several occassions from different people, and although I had the initial "revulsion" from the thought of drinking my own piss, I respected their opinions enough to follow up and read about it so I can make an informed decision. Once I decided to do it, I've never looked back.
I am happy to say that I have been completely dis-ease free since starting uropathy. I haven't had a cold, no sniffles, nothing... even while everyone else in the house is coming down with the flu, strep throat, and more. I'm so grateful to have known the right people at the right time when I'm open to the therapy.
Everyday, I have a "flush". I've read other people call it "God's High Enema". Some might consider that a negative, but I see it as a positive cleansing effect of uropathy. After the flush, I feel so "empty", I feel fantastic! I feel so much "lighter".
I've also read about people's concerns about toxicity of excessive urea intake. But as it turns out, the excess is simply flushed with the stool, and there is no build up. Urea is a fascinating molecule in that it's used as a basic building block for protein and tissue synthesis and maintenance. It is the smallest organic molecule that the body can use.
Please do your own research on this to satisfy your belief system, as we all have our own requirements before we can "buy-in" and update/upgrade our paradigms. I don't have scientific data and I'm not a lab researcher, per se. But there are plenty of scientific research done on urine analysis, but probably more needs to be done on the effects of Shivambu.
Having said that, I consider Shivambu to be a sacred gift from God, Lord Shiva. I am ever grateful to everyone who introduced it to me, and showed me the way.
Thanks for your questions. Although Shivambu is wholistic, sacred and Divine, scientific thinking should prevail in it's study and practice.
May you have your best day ever!
~Oz
