Gathering Herbs
When I was a child, I spent a lot of time with my Grandfather at his farm. Often during the year, he would say that it was time to collect herbs. It would often be at a time when something in the weather changed, or maybe the winds kicked up, or died down, or something that told him it was time to get a certain herb. Many years ago I studied the Rune system and did many readings with them. I spent a lot of time with them and enjoyed them. Somehow I got off onto other things and used them only occasionally. Recently my interest was renewed and I have gone deeper into their history and meanings. I was looking though some of my older writings and thoughts and ran into what I called "The Magic Fornula": It is a combination of Runes; when viewed and used together they become more powerful. Thought I'd like to share it.

Description from top to bottom:
Algiz= protection,
M is ehwaz= movement, working together cooperatively
F is fehu= wealth, luck, love
dagaz= breakthough, new beginnings
uruz= manifestation, health, strength
othala= property, kinship, home
R is raido= journey, movement
The entire rune is enclosed in a triangle which gives it even more power

Recently, I received an inbox comment asking me to stop calling myself a shaman and to stop "appropriating" and "stealing" Native American spirituality. Further, it was stated in the comment that a true shaman would not charge for healing services rendered. I thought it would be good to make the reply public:
It would be wise to do some research before
jumping off into opinions and assumptions.
On the issue of being called a shaman:
There is nothing that can be ”stolen”.
Every indigenous culture around the globe has had
their ”shamans”, medicine people or healers.
The shamanic practice does not ”belong” to
Native Americans (or anyone else).
Further, direction, information and revelation
that comes from Spirit belongs only to the one
to whom it is given.
It has nothing to do with background.
In the tribal times, the tribe would support the shaman.

Grottos are usually found where there is a small waterfall in a cave or small niche in rocks. This Grotto has a waterfall springing out of its container springing over the little angel that prays over the Icon of Mary.

This is a story about time I spent with my Grandfather during Spring, harvesting sap from maple trees and making maple syrup
MAKING MAPLE SYRUP Spring came late on my Grandfather’s farm...usually long after Easter and into May. The first signs we saw were little green sprouts coming up and little buds on the trees. I would visit my Grandfather in the springtime and I was always thrilled to walk around and have him point out all the little signs of spring. The biggest springtime event was the sap rising in the big sugar maple trees that were everywhere on the farm. In fact, maple syrup was one of the big money making things that was grown on the farm. This altered book was done for the "6th night" time period of the Mayan calendar.

The title "TicTok" implies that time, as delineated by the Mayan calendar, is running out. I decided to make a book for this time period. However I didn’t get far into the year when I got overwhelmed by all the earth movements and other changes going on and stopped making it. Then at the end of the year I decided to just finish it without any reference to the months that had gone by.

This is an assemblage. It features a heart with a crown.
There is a flashlight lens and bulb in the center of the heart, which is a cardboard box shaped like a heart.
The crown is a wooden picnic fork and the side pieces are plastic pieces that are made to look old and rusted.
