Chant to Mother Earth
First posting for the new Fall season!

Wait a minute...what happened to summer??
Now it seems it whizzed by so fast I hardly remember it passing.
Is time really moving that fast?
I have been playing a lot with my new style of art....mixed media abstract. Got tired out as all the canvases are 2 feet by 2 feet. Now that two are done I can say that I do not like either one of them. They are not at all what I envisioned in my mind.
I still have four canvases to play with; I have a different idea to try out on at least one of them. Who knows what the others will turn into. I am NOT taking pictures of the ones I already did as they are so bad that I don't want anyone to see them.
Ever since I got the Shamanic drum I have been getting tiny "visions" of chants/songs/poems/prayers, or whatever they are. Since I am not a singer I wondered why I was getting these visions. Then over time they got a little stronger.
Lately I have been waking up in the middle of the night, composing a little chant/prayer to Mother Earth/Great Mother. It seems very loosely based on the 23rd Psalm. Today I finally wrote it out and now any resemblance to the 23rd Psalm no longer seems evident. Naturally it sounds different when it is chanted/sung. I have no idea how to record it or if I would dare to try to sing/chant it. I don't know, but I do know it sounds lovely in my head.
As always it begins and ends with an opening and closing done four times as an honor to the four directions. Thought I would post it to see what others thought:
PRAYER/CHANT TO THE GREAT MOTHER
MOTHER! MOTHER!
MOTHER! MOTHER!
Thank you Mother for guiding me across your great lands.
You show me the green meadows, the dense forests, and the beautiful mountains.
Even though the world may be in chaos, I do not fear, for your bounty sustains me.
You provide me with a banquet when I hunger.
Your blood is the water that quenches my thirst.
Surely I walk in the confidence of your being
as you sustain me all the days of my life.
Thank you! Thank you!
