Smoke and Fire
Smoke and Fire all around me, I continue to make art, write poetry, and gain insights since my stroke.

It is dark.
It seems that it has been dark a long time.
Endlessly waiting for some glimmer of light on the horizon.
The imagination constructs clouds and rainbows;
These flash a reminder of wishes of a distant past.
It is quiet.
The ears strain for any small sound.
There is none.
Silence.
Silent motion creeps around.
Wait!
Is there some hint of light?
Is this only imagination?
It seems that a tiny breeze blows.
Yes!
A small light seems to appear.
The light grows larger.
Beyond all hope or expectation,
it is true.
The light is growing brighter!
Maybe now the darkness will brighten.
For some reason I was inspired to write something more about
my experience in the hospital. I thought I would make an artist journal with all kinds of collage on it. Soon I discovered a problem with using paint with a marker. I need to get a better system for lettering. I am excited to do this project as more and more information is showing up. I really want to do this project but who knows what new information will be showing up.
Living in way northern California, we are in a fire season, with fires all around us and there is smoke everywhere. A city above us is currently having a huge fire and we can see the flames of it all the way to where we are which is about 50 miles away.
On top of it all, SEVEN planets are in retrograde so we are in for a realllly fun time!

Gather your inner resources.
You will need to reach into the darkness.
What you find there may scare you but will be very useful;
