Progressing in spirit during the fast
Sooner, the fast becomes you....you just do it.
Date: 6/8/2005 12:27:13 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 2092 times I just wanted to post a quick update. I haven't posted in a few days but I'm still on track. Things have gone better then expected. I still find it hard to believe that I'm here, into my third week of the juice fast. It's been quite a journey so far.
To anyone who is reading this and has just started their fast or is working through the first few days I encourage you to stick with it because it gets easier. You can do it. Eventually you get past the routine of meal times, you can deal with the cravings, you can feel deep hunger and engulf yourself in it and not be afraid of it or anxious not knowing how to cope.
It's an amazing feeling, not to be consumed by the desire to eat, the desire to fill voids with the wrong substances. I feel I'm at the point now where I easily get through my days without dwelling on what I'm not able to eat. I've become more productive, more social more energetic. I've prayed more these past few weeks then I ever have and it's been uplifting, especially in times of discouragement.
I've decided I will not be posting everyday on my personal experience unless there's something profound I need to share with you. I've really enjoyed getting emails and messages from those that have read these entries and have been able to pull out one or more things and relate to them. We are in this together afterall, we were created to help, motivate and encourage each other.
I've been reading a lot of articles from the web. I'll try to post the ones I've found to be most helpful to me.
