April 8-9

hotel stairwalking and hilly neighborhood child trike dodging

I've been walking quite a bit this weekend.

I attended an all-day workshop related to my alternative health biz on Saturday. I know, probably, when you picture one of those all-day workshops you picture roomsful of people sitting still for hours at a time. I decided early in the day that wasn't going to be me. I don't like sitting still for that long, especially not when I'm stuck right in the middle of the audience. So I opted for an edge seat so I could get in and out easily and I went for lots of little walks around the hotel and outside the hotel.

The workshop was in Greeley, Colorado which is a medium-sized city a few hours North of Denver. There is often a smell that permeates Greeley due to the cattle industry, so it's not the most pleasant town for a vegetarian to spend time in. It did not smell bad on Saturday. Perhaps the rendering plants are not open on the weekends? Or maybe it was the direction of the breeze. I prefer my cows (and all creatures in fact) alive, thank you!

So I walked around the block where the hotel hosting our workshop was located, but did not venture far into the industrial section of town that the hotel was abutting. I'm adventurous but like pretty walks best.

I decided just to walk up and down the nice wide stairway from the lst to the 2nd floor of the hotel. That's always good exercise when one needs to do exercise on a repeating course for efficiency's sake.

Certainly, I did this mostly during the breaks in the workshop, but also whenever anything resembling multilevel marketing was going on, which happened a few times.
I have spent enough time in my life already listening to that whole spiel. No more of it for me.

This was a nice uncrowded high-ceilinged hotel to go walking in. I spent a total of 50 minutes walking yesterday.

Today, Sunday, I went with an Acupuncturist I know to look at rental office space for a potential upcoming move.

That involved a half hour of walking but since it was confined and not in spaces with fresh air, I don't really count it.

Therefore, I went walking in the neighborhood behind my favorite neighborhood shoppette just North of downtown Boulder for awhile after viewing the rental suites of offices.

It was nice. I was dodging little tykes on trikes barreling down the side streets with their parent(s) close behind, and I did go to an Open House where there was an unusually pleasant and knowledgeable real estate agent and a putting green in the backyard.

I walked to my son's apartment with the brochure about the house as I was so impressed with it, and then I walked back to my car. 40 minute walk not counting the stopping times of course.

I've felt so much more energized and clear since giving up breads, flour, crakers, pasta, grains, and such. Every other day tablespoonsful of Vitamineral Green mixed with pure black cherry juice have also helped immensely.

Just discovered Kombucha, and will write more about it later. I'm not sure if it would be on a raw diet, but I haven't achieved 100% raw yet anyway.

I'm thinking of trying a detoxifying ionic foot bath next week. That was demonstrated at the workshop I attended yesterday, and it appears to draw toxins out of the body. I don't quite understand the technology, and some of it sounded like what I refer to as "new age gobbledy gook" (the description of what it does) to me.

But many people report feeling energized and quite clear after just one use.

It's expensive to use ($40 a pop!) so I hope it does a lot for me after one use because one use is all I can reasonably afford!

I'll probably say more about it after I try it.

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.
