day two

My "frozen" knee has loosened up, but I still have not gotten what I need to begin my raw diet.

Day two begins with good news. For a couple of weeks now my left knee has been frozen frozen at an almost 90 degree angle. It was only with the greatest effort and pain I could move it enough to be able to stand and more or less drag the leg while using a walker. Very early this morning the knee began to loosen up, I still can't get it completely straight, but its more like a 30 degree angle. I can move that leg a little which makes walking a little easier. Sadly, I still can't put any weight on it or get any sense of balance. At therapy today the doctor was very pleased and said he is seeing some progress. The pain is very bad today, but just walking a little better and a little further means a lot.
I guess the bad news is that I still haven't been able to switch over to my raw diet. I simply cannot hold up long enough to shop. A lovely lady from work brought me some groceries last week. I told her I was on a very strict diet to reduce inflammation; no meat, dairy, wheat, or sugar. She very lovingly brought me all sorts of goodies made with Aspartame and Splenda, ground sirloin and shrimp. She also brought reduced fat crackers with trans fats. The made me realize the vast gulf between what is promoted as healthy food and what is really healthy. Thankfully, she did bring me some wonderful Fuji apples, but I still am having one cooked meal a day doing the best with what I have on hand. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a neighbor to go with me and help me fill a basket with good fresh fruits and veggies. Until then I need to go order some more supplements that Owen suggested.
Although I wish all this had never happened, and I frequently get discouraged from this terrible pain and weakness. I have been blessed. I have gotten to know how truly wonderful, generous and compassionate some people can be. Here on Curezone I have been so blessed with people reaching out to help, and to offer sympathy and comfort. Despite the occasional rotten apple, I dearly love and appreciate my Curezone family.
