1/10: Master Cleanser
Just getting started!!
Date: 9/6/2006 12:36:02 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2842 times Okay, so here I go!!! I am definitely mentally ready for a 10 day fast. And if all goes well I think I should stick with it just fine. I went to Whole Foods last night and bought a bunch of organic lemons and grade B maple syrup. I have a ton of cayenne still left over from the previous fast. I also bought baked tofu and lentil soup for my "last dinner" last night because that is what I craved so badly throughout my last fast. It's funny how every time I buy maple syrup and a big bag of lemons..... people at the store and at the check-out always say... "Ah, you are doing the Master Cleanse!! What day are you on?"
I am trying to remember all the good things that came out of my last 10 day fast: I felt so light on my feet, lost 10 pounds, felt very alert, lost my craving completely for diet soda. That still has not come back. I also had lots of time to think about how I should eat and what I should cut out of my regular diet. I had lots of energy which I put towards organizing my closet, cleaning, working-out and painting rather than thinking about what food to make. I slept so well and felt so recharged in the mornings, my skin was glowing, and my running injury in my knee that bothered me for 2 years totally cleared up by the end of my fast. And I also had a great sense of control in my life. Not bad right?
The one thing that I did not like at all was the salt water flushes last time. I tried it three times and just felt horrible for about 2 hours afterwards. I think it is a little too harsh for me and I didn't seem to get anything out of it.... if you know what I mean. So, I think I will stick to the herbal laxative teas in the am and pm. Maybe this weekend I will try the salt water again since I will be able to just lay there for a while. I wonder if the oxypowder that everyone seems to rave about would be a good idea for this fast?? Hmmm.
Okay.... back to work! Wish me luck! And for all you crazy fasters out there..... keep up the good work!!
