Day 3 of Juice Fast
Fasting Day 3 includes; Swimming & Steaming & Dreaming oh my!!

I started the day with my "standard" juice (10oz) which kept me going nearly all day (I sit on my ass all day so it's not like I'm expending calories). I had to take my car in to get fixed and left my "lunch-time" juice in the car. Turns out...I didn't need it!!
After I got the car fixed (all it needed was a new battery) I went to the gym to enjoy a swim in their lap pool and some time in their steam room. I'm really getting to like the steam room!! Afterwords I got a shot of wheat-grass and 10oz of carrot juice.
Then I proceeded to my Masters class. About halfway through the class I started to feel some dull pain in my kidneys. This progressed throughout the rest of the class (they are 3 hours long---only once a week, though). I hope this is a sign of my first cleansing reaction. On the drive home the pain started fading somewhat. When I got home I pretty much went straight to bed to sleep.
During the night I had number of vivid dreams. Although, not yet lucid dreams I feel that this is only a matter of time (something I used to be able to do in my youth and have sorely missed). I found it really funny that in one of these dreams I was eating a granola bar. In the dream I realized I was eating a granola bar and spat it out....then I went to the bathroom and induced vomiting. I really thought the dream was real and I was bummed that I had given up on the fast. The instant I had that thought I immediatly woke up!!! Not to be too New-Agey but I think that is my subconscious telling me how disappointed I would be should I not finish this journey. I'm hoping to use that as a booster when I face a really difficult healing crisis.
On another note, I'm a little concerned about my relationship with my wife over this fast. See, we are both gourmet food people (which, unfortunately, has led to our own unhealthy physical condition). She has a thing about wanting to be on a diet whenever I am. The problem is, she hasn't found a long-term diet that works for her. She (and I) have tried them all. You name it: Slim Fast, Atkins, Pritkin, Zone, South Beach, Grapefruit, French, Ornish, etc... we've lost weight on all of them but they just don't work in the long run. The real issue between us at this point is that I am losing an incredible amount of weight right now (even though thats not the main reason I'm juice-fasting) while she has actually gained a few pounds (even though shes been doing slim-fast and exercising daily) and she resents me for it :( She is depressed and I am trying to support her through this time but it's not going well. I am trying to take every new day and be positive not only aboout my own health and self image but about my relationship, my wife and her self-image too!!
Good health,
Bearded One
