Date: 9/9/2007 11:44:50 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2183 times Yesterday, the water fast was a breeze. I was amazed that I got through it. I felt very proud of myself. I guess transitioning from a fruit fast to a water fast made it easier. I plan to do the water fast today to...however, I had to take communion at church today.
Tomorrow, I'll end the water fast and start juicing again. I'm so excited about being able to drink pineapple juice tomorrow. I didn't have food cravings yesterday or today so far. I feel so much more healthier. I've only lost 5.5 lbs in nine days, but I feel like I've lost a lot of inches. A week ago, my clothes were very tight and some I couldn't even wear. But they now fit.
This fast is teaching me how much we rely on food. Although, I'm vegan, I realized I ate a lot of vegan junk food, soy cream bars, vegan cookies, soy chips, etc. At work I would nibble throughout the day. After the fast, I plan to transition into a raw lifestyle. I know that will take time, but I will start by trying to eat at least 75% raw. I want to be healthy. And this fast is teaching me that the body is amazingly smart and will stay fit and healthy as long as you give it the proper nutrition in the right portions, in addition to giving it a rest from food occasionally. I'm thinking about juice or water fasting at least once a week in the future.
Today I feel good. I could have never imagined that I would get to this point.
