Herpes: The 1 Million lb Gorilla in the room
I woke up today still astonished by how a disease like herpes which affects at least 60% of the population above or below the waist and that is spreading like a California wildfire can be virtually ignored by the media.

I woke up today still astonished by how a disease like herpes which affects at least 60% of the population above or below the waist and that is spreading like a California wildfire can be virtually ignored by the media. You don't hear about it in the news, you don't see it mentioned in movies, television shows or on mainstream radio. People with herpes are invisible and silent for the most part. Would you be willing to help humanize herpes by telling your own personal herpes story on a dvd, website or in a book?

This is very encouraging to me because the more of us willing to come forward to put a human face on this disease the better a climate of understanding and tolerance we can create for our selves but more importantly for our brothers and sisters who will be getting herpes in the future. We will also help some people protect themelves from ever getting this lifelong gift.
