I use some Lugols in my body lotion, this is self made of aloe gel and oil (coconut oil and others + essential oils) it mixes really well, and there is no burning when diluted like this; on the contrary, it is a regenerating effect and it feels energizing on the skin. (approx 5 drops per 100 ml of body lotion)
A really good regenerator on aging skin is 50-50 lugols and aloe vera juice, plus a tiny pinch of ascorbic acid; it is like the ampulles you pay $$ for; a real pick me up.
On the other hand; if one wants to remove a mole, one needs the "burning" effect of straight lugols, day after day for a month or two. No scars!

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,804,981I would play with the dosage; no skin are alike, nor oils.
I still use a bodylotion containing aloe, coconut oil,essential oil and iodine.
Have tried emu oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and like them periodically, but the best for me is coconut oil.
Iodine; as a sun screen in oil or aloe or both; 5-10 drops per 100 ml. Reduce if the skin turns dry.
As a body lotion 1-2 drops per 100 ml are fine (for my skin)
Regenerator; that is iodine; if you take "to much" the top layer will dry up, moles and discoloration will look worse for a while, then schrink, fade, and a new, better looking skin will arise. Takes a month or two; if one can take the "detox"!

I am going to get rid of this scalp thing if it is the last thing I do !

This is a reply to # 1,805,181I had a little spray bottle (4 oz) that I filled with homemade magnesium oil and some lugols. I would spritz it on my face after my bath. I loved the way my face felt hydrated. I've run out of mag oil and haven't made up a new batch yet. Since I've got 6 8oz bottles of 2% Lugols in my cabinet. I'm thinking of going crazy -- making up some lotion. Thanks for digging up the recipe.

Ginagirl has said Lugol's can be drying to hair. I don't recall anyone posting about using SSKI.

This is a reply to # 1,805,934I am thinking of trying it in coconut oil with aloe gel and applying it on scalp - reading how this works for skin so well and hoped the hair would survive a few drops of SSKI mix in. Maybe a patch test first at the neckline...
