This is a reply to # 2,138,026Just hang in there survivor. We cope the best way we can. Life sucks, but you just have to pull through. I feel like I've reached the lowest of lows too, but I know that I will get my llife back on track. Everyday is a struggle, but it's a new year and I'm going to try my hardest to put back the pieces of my life together. There's no guarantee that it'll happen, but it doesn't hurt to try and have a positive outlook because when you're really low and can't go any lower, always remember that things can only go up from there. - Re: How do you cope? #65058

This is a reply to # 2,138,026Prayer helps a lot. I always feel better or at peace somehow after i pray. Especially when I'm feeling really low and I've had some low low days.
It's so sad cuz I literally spend a lot of my days watching other people live. Going to work or school, pursuing goals, hanging out. Whatever. At least they're able to do it. It's good to believe this will all get better because therein lies hope. It would be nice however if we had some kind of voice of authority from a medical perspective to help us along. But we've got none of that. Many of us are simply the blind leading the blind.

This is a reply to # 2,138,026When I used to be stuck in a college dorm and I couldn't deal with all the stress of people talking shit about me. I would go outside and take long walks and just think to myself. I don't know why, but taking long walks would calm me down and make me more relaxed. Another coping mechanism I used to do was to run a lot. Exercise has been said to relieve stress and boost your mood so that's another great coping mechanism. But the best coping technique is socializing, having someone to talk to about your problems. When I was in college I had a college therapist I could talk to about my problems. Even though she didn't believe me, it made me feel better that somebody was listening to me. You really need to talk to someone that will listen, you can't keep this secret bottled up.

This is a reply to # 2,138,568Hi everyone. I've lived with being stinky for the last 20 years, I'm a male who's nearly 42 now. Every day has been an ordeal of self loathing that almost matches the loathing emanating from the people who have to put up with my existence. I try not to think of the other me that used to exist confident, happy, popular and good looking. Suicide is never that far from my thoughts.
I have spent a small fortune on lotions and potions and hours spent scrubbing until I'm raw trying to beat this thing. I tested for TMAU and my numbers came outside what was considered a normal range but the doctor didn't see the figures as being abnormal enough to be considered as having TMAU.
The smell (garbage / sewer / smokey) seems to come from everywhere but worst from head, hands, armpits, bum, crotch, feet and my urine stinks but no bloating or gas like some people on these threads. My skin is greasy and in the shower I scrub and actually make myself cough and I could wash myself for ever and never feel clean. I also get night time sweats which I figure is my body trying to get rid of the toxins. Anyone else out there who is similar? Stress is a big trigger to me. Anyone tried hypnosis to help with the anxiety?
