When I used to be stuck in a college dorm and I couldn't deal with all the stress of people talking shit about me. I would go outside and take long walks and just think to myself. I don't know why, but taking long walks would calm me down and make me more relaxed. Another coping mechanism I used to do was to run a lot. Exercise has been said to relieve stress and boost your mood so that's another great coping mechanism. But the best coping technique is socializing, having someone to talk to about your problems. When I was in college I had a college therapist I could talk to about my problems. Even though she didn't believe me, it made me feel better that somebody was listening to me. You really need to talk to someone that will listen, you can't keep this secret bottled up.
