Hey guys! I know it's been a while, but I've been getting a increasing number of comments, emails, and messages, usually asking the same things, in fact I don't think the people asking me these questions even bothered to watch my weekly videos before they contacted me.
Anyways, I've actually gotten a lot of "hate" from several people saying that I didn't give any advice, and my video explained nothing, I didn't help them, etc. So I wanted to make one final video for everyone to show EXACTLY what I did week by week. I will be watching through each of my videos, since it seems that's too difficult for most people to do, and be giving an exact breakdown of what I did exactly.
I was reading this new post, and realized when Healed9000 wrote to use aquaphor constantly and every 15 minutes if you had to that I might not have mentioned that is what I had done. I might have assumed everyone would know to put it on anytime it came off, but yes indeed I used it constantly. Easily every 15 minutes.
So next month marks two years of being healed, I believe I made the video in December 2013 of being healed and I was healed for about a month during that time.
If you have any questions at all, please leave them as a reply, and I will try to incorporate them into the video. I do not plan on making this a Q&A video like my last one, simply just exactly what I did to heal myself. Since I apparently didn't answer the questions last time anyways. I will probably remove all the old text parts of my site since that seems to confuse people more than help. I left it up there as reference material for people to understand what I was doing in the beginning, but apparently it's too confusing.
This will be my final post, except to announce when I release the video, so I would like to wish everyone the best of luck, and please try my method, every single aspect of it, not just parts of it here and there.
I am still 100% healed, and use only an organic lip balm during the day. Skin does not build up, skin doesn't wipe off, there is not irritation at all.

Ignore all the haters man. I personally believe that you were unbelievably brave for keeping your lips the way they were for so long, and incredibly generous for going those lengths you did to provide helpful, life-saving information to people like me, people who would be nowhere with this issue if it weren't for you.
I couldn't do what you did. I set out to--I applied aquaphor over my scabs and kept it like that for three days. By the third day, the color and shape of the scabs was sickening, and when I stepped out of my house, I immediately ran back in to slough them off. I was too embarrassed to walk around like that.
Then I stumbled on the "cure" and that was all. Now I know that exfoliative cheilitis is just a scary name for a scrape of the lip, and all of us suffered only because we were overthinking the situation.

P.S. Keep the text on your site. It's great. I only watched your last video, because I can't stand videos, so the text was a boon for me.
P.P.S. Did you see my posts where I analyzed your and Daniki's (and others') situation? If so, what do you think about my conclusions?

Lets be honest nobody really hates anybody here, nobody hates Daniel either. It's just a frustrating condition that mentally affects everyone and obviously the questions are gonna fly out from all angles when someone reports a cure!
Plus it's hard to think that most of us get this by rubbing biting creams or whatever and the way to cure it is to rub cream on them constantly during the day.
If it was applying cream on them very lightly every 15mins as to not create more trauma then fine that sounds plausible! But if you read Healing9000 posts he tells people to rip the crusts off and slather it on etc as if you can rub the shit out of them without it mattering! And the cured video Daniel posted he showed how to apply it which wasn't lightly as he rubbed/smooched his lips together etc, which is perfectly fine if your lips are cured like the video was claiming. But is that really how it was being applied from the very start? Hard to get my head around it if so!
See that's one of the biggest questions that people have about this method! We've all tried this method to a certain degree and when your lips burn / blister etc it's like really I must stop this feels wrong. So one of the biggest questions is how to apply the god damn shit lol.
If Daniel left his lips alone for months so no trauma and then one day the crusts came off softly in shower and he decided/started the procees of applying the cream kinda lightly until they were cured to the point were he could just apply/rub it in like a normal person. That sounds plausable!
But like ripping crusts off like Healing9000 said or even applying it like a person with normal lips and smooching your both lips together, doesn't sound right at all!
It is good that you're posting a new video Daniel.

I agree with your point. Nobody hates anybody. But I think the frustration towards Daniel might have come because his 30 minute conclusion video lacked concision. I personally wasn't following his weekly updates, so I think a more concise final video would have been more effective. No hate though Daniel, thanks for coming back.
Anyway, although Healing9000's use of the word 'rip' does sound really violent, I don't believe that's what he was getting at.
I think he simply meant to get rid of the crusts initially through whatever your regular method is. Then, when your lips are raw, start applying aquaphor RELIGIOUSLY, always keeping your lips covered in the stuff. Exfoliating any build up off whenever you see it necessary. I exfoliate twice a day with a toothbrush, morning and evening, even though I have basically no build up. I do it just to be sure there is none.
That's pretty much the same thing you said seemed 'plausible'. I've been doing it too, and I'm seeing really good results so far.

I have had peeling lips for almost 10 years. Mine is as bad as yours was at it worst, and I only knew they were this bad when I stumbled upon your site and decided to leave them alone. Prior to this I kept peeling them.
I have a few questions:
Do you think the complete leave alone method (no creams or ointments) had any effect on the healing what so ever? Did you see some progress and think it may have healed up if you left them without creams, even if it may have taken longer? During that stage, did the peeling cycle slow down?
Did you apply the aquaphor over the scabs? Did they fall off at some stage to reveal new skin underneath, or did they slowly turn back to what looks like normal lips?
Where your lips still peeling during the aquaphor stage? And if so, was the skin raw underneath or was it new skin?
Did you apply aquaphor to the inside of your lips?
Did your white line become dislodged and disfigured during sleep or during the use of aquaphor?
Did the leave alone method (without ointments and creams) start to reduce in size over a long period of time (leave alone method makes the EC spread to the rest of my lips).
It is now summer here, should I be out in the sun constantly? I saw you said it helped, and brushing your teeth..
- my problem with the leave alone methods, with or without creams, is that they are constantly coming off from the sides of my lips, only to reveal raw skin underneath. The sides are always flaking, and I just can't seem to stop it.
- also when I sleep, the inside of my lips must press together and create that white sludge stuff on the inside of my lips. I have not been wiping it away even though it is no longer attatched, thereby it may be dead skin.
ps: I want to commend you on your bravery. I watched the videos and admire that you wanted to help others out there with the condition. I was actually living in Tampa Florida during your time healing (originally from Australia).
I am on week 8 of the leave alone method, and man the looks and questions I get are enough to drive a man crazy. But most people here don't even look at you when they talk, so it has not been all that difficult.

I just noticed your line : Mine is as bad as yours was at it worst,
and this made me listen up because mine is also quiet bad just like Daniel´s was and I got the feeling that most people here have this in a much smaller extent..
You also said you had it quiet a long time now.
So has it always been that bad? Or only since you´ve been leaving them alone?
And did you have any success with dermatologists or have you also got the feeling that their presciptions only made the whole thing worse..?
Has anything you were putting on your lips helped in the long run or did you also feel like irritating them the more the more stuff you gave them..?

Hey Daniel,
Could you please provide more details on the last few months of EC in your video. I am at the stage where my build up is very thin. Most of the build up falls off completely when I eat, except for a small patch in the middle of my upper lip. I don't mind the small flakes, but I really don't like how they turn sticky and white when in contact with water or when I am talking a lot. It is almost summer here and I want to swim at the beach without worrying about having white stuff all over my lips.
I read that in the last few months you gave up on the constant moisture method and started gently rubbing the white line off your lips. Can you please provide more details on what your lips were like when you did this.
Thanks so much for sharing your story. Your lips were much worse than mine have ever been, yet in all your videos you seem to be so positive and just get along with your life. I think it was partly your attitude and hope that cured you.
