Please note some misinformation presented recently in this forum.
About three weeks ago, dennis posted the following message:

However this is not true. That particular generator in designet only for water. Its ozone production is only about 200 mg/hour. It shoud be noted that olive or sunflower oil need much more ozone than water. The reason is that ozone reacts immediately with carbon-carbon double bonds in unsaturated fatty acids yelding ozonides, which have antiseptic (and therapeutic) properties. In fact ozonated oils contains no ozone but only ozonides which have very similar properties than ozone. One molecule of fatty acid reacts with one ozone molecule. So you neet about 10-30 GRAMS of ozone for about 100 ml olive oil. By using that particular generator, it takes about 100 hours. Because this generator use air instead of oxygen, it generates at least tiny amounts of hazardous nitrogen oxides. This amount is not remarkable in the ozonation of water because it takes only some minutes. However, the ozonated oil made this generator (within about 100 hours) could be even toxic. So, this generator is simply nos suitable for ozonation of olive oil.

This is also false comment. Ozonated olive oil is very effective!!! I'm not suprised about the results obtained by Gaylen, if he have used above mentioned generator or if he have not ozonated it much enought. However, many commercial products works very well. Several work have been performed in many laboratories worldwide, proving the efficacy of these producs. See for example:

This is a reply to # 446,171I didn't say it wasn't effective, just that it doesn't work as fast as pure ozone applied to the area. That is fact. Also the olive oil I used was made by the best generator, and by Dr. Pressman who is one of the top five ozone people in the world, and was ozonated for two weeks at least to a thick paste, and shipped cold. Like I said it's only good for a few minutes, then you can wash it off. You know the 1/2 life for ozone is 20 minutes right?
I've read all those studies before. One thing you should remember is these people are NOT applying ozone as much, or as frequently as I have, or like people like Dr. Pressman. They either apply it everyday for a few weeks, or apply it every few days for a few months, but not twice everyday for 1 year straight. They also haven't compaired it to using pure ozone everyday, for a year either. There's a BIG difference. So don't get caught up in the hype like I said. Pure ozone is better. MUCH Better.

Yes! 1/2 life for OZONE is about 20 min in those condition, but 1/2 life for OZONIDES are many hours or even days. Ozonated olive oil contains no ozone, but only ozonides as I said in my previous message. It reacts immediately (less than half second) with fatty acids. You can note this when you breathe the ozone gas which is bubbled through oil, you can's smell it because THERE ARE NOT ANY OZONE LEFT. Only volatile components of ozonated oil.
As I said, ozonated oil is much better than conventional Antibiotics . It is clearly very good option for most wounds and other skin diseases. I'm a chemist in the university of Helsinki (Finland) and I have personally ozonated and analyzed various fatty acids and used them in various skin diseses. I certainly know, what I'm speaking.

You do have a great collection of studies on ozone! You seem to disagree with Dr. Pressman as I do too on some things along with other people too. Is that a picture of you on the site?
Ok, we agree pure ozone is better. The ozonated ice cubes we seem to disagree on? Can you explain how “Freezing doesn't destroy ozone, but it doesn't also protect it.“? Can you also explain the triolein triozonide? I looked it up and couldn't find anything on it. Also what are ozonides?

Yes I remember you. In fact I usually agree perfecly with dr. Pressman, who certainly is an expert in this field. However, I often disagree with Ed McCabe or other non scientists. Their stories about patients are propably true, but they often know only little about the exact mechanisms of ozone therapies.

Yes I have, and the list in my web pages contains only those studies, which I have a copy or even original issue of the journal. I have also several hundred abstract from medical papers of russian School of ozone therapy, but not original articles. Propably my collection is one of the worlds most complete. I have written a complete book (in finnish) on the ozone and hydrogen peroxide therapies, and next edition is coming soon.

Ozone molecules are always in random motion. When molecules collides with each other, they will break down yelding diatomic oxygen. In high temperatures, the motion is higher, and half life of ozone is shorter. When ozone concentration is high, the collision propability is also high, and degradation rate is also high. This explais, why high ozone concentration are more unstable than small amounts. I'm now on holiday, so I can't check the exact half lifes in various temperatures, but in water, above 4 oC it is less than half minute. in Fridge, pure ozonated water can be stored about one day, but concetration is much lesser than recently ozonaed water. In freeze, the random motion of molecules is low, but not non-existent. Thus the ozone destruction occurs also in ice althoug much slower rate. I have not tested, could the water crystallization destroy some ozone, but propably it happens. So, if there are some ozone left in ice cubes,the concentration is very much lower than in recently ozonated cold water.
Can you also explain the triolein triozonide? I looked it up and couldn't find anything on it. Also what are ozonides?
Triolein triozonide is a kind of ozonide which is formed by ozonization of oleic acid (which is one component in olive oil). These ozonides have similar antiseptic properties like ozone, but are structurally very different compounds.

Dr. Pressman hasn't mentioned ozonated olive oil contains no ozone. I wrote him in his group about this, so you may want to see his response.

I asked Dr. Pressman why he doesn't do scientific studies proving what he says about ozone. He didn't respond, so I started wondering if he's really a Dr. I know he likes to keep a low profile, so maybe that's why. Also have you heard of Peter Jovan? I think maybe Basil Earle Wainwright is the only real scientist out of the top ozone experts. You seem to know quit a bit though, and you're a chemist.

Dr. Pressman says ozone will keep indefinatly as long as it's frozen.

So this is why it's better to apply ozone at a low concentration, so there's less degradation.

So what exactly is a ozonide?
Like I said I'm trying to do a report on ozone showing all the different ways to apply it, studies, and so on, for two different web sites. I was wondering if you could write a summary of all the studies you have on your site since you know them better than I do, and would do a better job I think. I will give you full credit and include a link to your site. If you don't want to, can I make a summary of the information from your site in my report? I will still promote you and your site if you like.

This is a reply to # 446,187I forgot you mentioned in the email you sent to me, you could send me the studies that you can't put on your web site because of copright laws. I would love to see them all, but I was also wondering if a person can do summaries in my, or your words ;-) like you see all over the web on the Sweet study, without violating copyright laws. That would be ok wouldn't it?
Boy I have a hard time trying to determine what some studies are talking about. I have to look up just about every word. :-( It aint' easy being cheesy. :-)

This is a reply to # 446,171As a long time ozone therapist, also a user and maker of ozonated olive oil, I have to tell you that what you smell when you enter the storage room is ozone coming off the ozonized olive oil.
All you have to do is sniff the jar to know -- offgassing of ozone points to ozone content, and the ozonized portion is ozone joined to an oil molecule and thus has no smell as long as it remains joined.

I am doingmy first large batch of oil on a ocntainer too big for the fridge. I'd read that the oil should be keep refridgerated ( although I don't know why ) and I'd like to ask how you store your oil during the making process?
Obviously it takes days to week to make the oil and I am not the only person to use large containers. Am i losing any ozone during the night when the oil is at rest and at room temps? thanks in advance.

First of all, I'd like to apologize of my English, but I hope you'll uderstand what I want to say.
I can not agree with your reply:

I don't think so. We use our own technology of ozone bubbling and I can tell you - not anay ozonator can bubble ozone trhough olive oil. In this case you'll get unpredictable results of peroxide number in ozone. sometimes ozone, oil and plastic tubes can flame up.
So, I call you to be more carefull during your experiment with bubbling olive oils.
