In the evening i developed slight foggy head and slight headache and runny nose. (I haven't had any of that since week one). I had been glued to computer for several hours which I don't usually have time to do, so I attributed it to that. By the time I went to bed, I was so thoroughly congested that I could not breathe in thru one of my nostrils and other was pretty clogged too. I had gone swimming and done some exercise earlier in the day and I wondered if that could have stirred things up, you know, germs whatever.
Then I thought my body may be telling me to come off the cleanse now, so I got out of bed and (not being properly prepared with juices and veggie broth) I ate a small plate (about 1.5 cups) of icerberg lettuce with fat free sun-dried tomato dressing.
The next day however (today that is) i continued with the lemonades and I feel fine again. And no congestion, no headache - nothing, I feel wonderful. I wanted to continue until Sunday and then do the LF. But if my body is telling me to quit now, I don't want to do anything to put myself in danger. I want to think it was the one hour in the pool that caused the slight regression and since it passed so quickly it may be so(?)
Sorry for the long post - just need some affirmation I think. I appreciate any help.

Lynne, it must have been so strange to actually eat! After...what...31 days, is it? How did that dressing taste - it must have been amazing!
I think you're right about what caused the congestion, only because, as you say, today you're back to feeling good. You were oxygenating your lungs and blood, and stimulating your lymph glands - you were probably stirring up some well-hidden toxins that were over-staying their welcome. That's my take on it, anyway! I don't think you should worry about it too much. How long are you planning on cleansing? Is your husband impressed with what you're doing?

This is a reply to # 671,778THanks Joan, I never thought of it that way. It had just occured to me before I read your post that I probably got something in the pool, even a reaction to the chlorinated water and then since my body fought it off so quickly, I was patting the 'cleanse' on the back LOL. Sort of...now my body is in better shape to fight off the bad critter that had the nerve to invade my sinus cavities LOL. Oh well, either way, if I continue to feel good at bedtime and tomorrow, then I think I can go the 4 more days to make it to 36 YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!
Day 37 will be Liver Flush juice day with elimination next morning. Then Monday all juice again with veggie stock on Tuesday and back to eating on Wednesday. Yes, the salad was pretty good, (and actually, I had 2 other tastes of iceberg lettuce about 10 days ago in pretense), but the dressing was out of this world. (ahem, I wanted to lick the bowl).
About my husband, well, this is going to sound strange and extremely hard to believe, but he doesn't really know that I am doing this. I know that sounds logistically impossible though I only had to 'pretend' on the weekend mornings basically and maybe one or two other occasions. Sadly it is testimony to how poor the intimacy is right now in our marriage. My battle with obesity has been around a long time and will continue for many years to come, but spending the time, energy, and emotion to vitalize my marriage is even more essential at this point and I feel that my heart is leading me to move in that direction, God help me. I know I am saying too much now and will probably regret it. But, at this moment, it didn't seem to hurt to share a little bit of what I am going through on that front.
I have begun to talk to him a bit about some of the places I am visiting on the sites and have shared your RA story with him as well as some others I am running across. Have you seen the Alan Schiles thread in the Arthritis forum? That's just one of course, my journey to research some of these sources for my husband has just begun really. He is not at all responsive at this point (just as he abhors any idea of fasting) but I will gently plod on.
(((Ramblin again! Am I supposed to stay away from discussing personal matters such as the things I mentioned? Sorry if I broke any ettiquette, I probably need to study up on the forum expectations))))

Lynne, you didn't break any etiquette rules ;) Don't have any regrets or worry about "saying too much" - I think it helps to put things down (on cyber paper, as it were!) - it can be just as healing and beneficial for your health as some of the other things that we're doing here. Another great thing about these boards is the anonymity. I would never go around talking about what I saw in my toilet anywhere else but here! It's nice to be able to get things off your chest once in a while, and vent in a forum of people who are complete strangers. Besides, I already knew your hubby didn't know you were on the cleanse - you had mentioned that in a previous post ;)
I hope you share some of those rawsome recipes when you start collecting them!

I'm collecting a few recipes but, LOL, they're all from the websites you recommended. But there sure are a ton of recipes out there. I love salad dressings so I want to build a collection of those.

I feel continually inspired by your posts, it is just absolutely amazing, that you have made it this far...
Especially since you had to do it in secrecy, that is just beyond belivable!
I have gone 15 days on Master-Cleanse (finished last week), and although most of the time I didn't have hard time with it, eventually my craving for different food prevailed, and that's the main reason I came off. (BTW I HAVE been eating too much since, almost like I had to make up for the lost food, but again, I really didn't feel too hungry most of the fast...)
Anyway, I really admire you for sticking with it THIS long, and just know, that you can do anything, after proving to yourself, that you can do this!!!
My only suggestion to you is, be more mindful of how you use the language. You made mention about your battle with obesity will continue for many years to come... Well, "as you shall speak, so it will be", so pay attention to that, and make sure, that you don't condemn yourself to the hell of the self-fullfilling prophesy... You know it is not necessary (unless, of course, you insist!!! :-)

This is a reply to # 671,835Good point about the language I use and self-fulfilling prophecy. What I meant though is after I come off the fast I will still be obese with another 80 pounds to lose and I think that even when I reach that mark, this is something I will always be battling....the battle to eat properly. I guess it didn't express it quite right but I know what you are saying and sometimes I do have a defeatest attitude of sorts.
Yes, the secrecy for this length of time is incredible to say the least. I'm an expert now at presenting the evidence....but that is totally not something I am proud of accomplishing. The 33 days however is PRETTY DARN GREAT!!!! LOL
Coming off is a little scary because this is quite honestly a very safe and comfortable place to be right now. Someone earlier said something that really hit home for me. If after doing this you go back to really bad and out of control eating, then the issue of deciding on good nutritious living has not even been addressed.
Thanks for posting and good hope to you on your journey as well.

I am inspired once again with your story. I discovered when I came off the Master-Cleanse I only went out of control when I didn't cleanse again. I think the key, for me, is to cleanse every season. I don't know if 30 days is necessary each time, but you can only measure that. Although, I have been vegan since my last cleanse, I would still over eat. But that really only started about 4 months after my first cleanse. I went twenty days my first mc and it really gave me will power. I didn't even want to eat junk. I'm sure you will feel that way too.
Can I ask you about you husband? Has he noticed your weightloss?

I hope to do a 10 day every other month and a long one might not be necessary again. I pray I can go vegan...will be a real commitment and such a change from the way I was raised, though in the last two years I had begun to make some healthier choices. And yes, I am craving only veggies now....that's all I can think about. I honestly think I could eat nothing but salad for a month!!
Thanks for he words of encouragment and congrats on your success as well. Was it a hard adjustment to go vegan?

No. Although I am vegan, I don't eat totally healthy. I still eat french fries or nachos. Or sometimes when life gets busy, I don't get to each veggies. I end up only eating carbs like rice and beans. Or a veggie burgie. Which is ok sometimes, but I do agree veggies and fruits are best with nuts. I know I feel better when I eat that way. But I have not managed to do that. So carbs endup ruling my life. But I do try to eat veggies and fruits whenever I get a chance.
