Hi Everybody!
Thought I'd log my experience so far on this fast. My husband is doing it also. We have been doing fruit juices in the am and veggie juice in the pm most days. Fruits consist of watermelon,apple,and ginger. Sometime we mix mulberry juice with it that I have in the freezer just to make it colder. Veggie has been mostly tomatoes that I'm getting out of the garden with celery, cilantro and garlic. Makes a tasty juice. We have also been doing P&S shakes, about 3 per day. We do colonics every other day and enemas on the other days, so we keep our pipes clean! We've cleaned out a lot of gunk out of our colon. We've had good energy so far and have been jogging every other day for an hour. Sweating out lot's of toxins via our skin I hope. Every now and then I feel this strange sensation go through my head and a little dizzy, but not often. I just attribute that to some sort of detox symtom. Of course we've both lost weight, but are surprised we haven't lost more. I've lost 8lbs and he's lost 12lbs. About half of that must be the absence of food in our system, so we really have not lost a lot of fat. He is about 30lbs overweight and I was about 16lb more than I wanted to be. He's down to 193 and I'm now at 132. Weight loss was not our main goal anyway. I was hoping I could get rid of Arthritis in my elbows and one ankle and he needed a good colon cleansing. My elbows are much less sore and my ankle is barely sore. I don't know if one more week is going to do the trick for my arthritis. I really want it to be cured, but don't know what else I might need to do other than making my body very alkaline. This soreness is not really in the joints, it's more of beside the joint, so must be calcification from inorganinc minerals.
We drink about 3 quarts of juice per day and don't have hardly any hunger pains.
The question I wanted to ask this group is for help in knowing how to end the fast. I want to do it right. We have been on 7 and 14 day fast before and I have not broken those fast very well and paid for it with intense stomach troubles. I don't want to experience that again. Also, if anyone knows of any additional things to do to get rid of calcification in the body. I'd love to hear from you guys!! Thanks

This is a reply to # 679,399What a great thing, to be able to do this as a couple! Sounds like you are doing wonderful work, and will enjoy many many benefits!
If you are drinking 3 quarts each of juice, this could explain your reduced weight loss (not necessarily a bad thing). Paavo Airola recommends we consume 3-6 CUPS of fresh juices daily while fasting.
A comment: The wonderful book, Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing, notes under its Arthritis entry, "The nightshade vegetables (green peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, white potatoes) contain a toxin called sotanine that some people, particularly those suffering from arthritis, are highly sensitive to. Sotanine interferes with enzymes in the muscles, and may cause pain and discomfort." You say you are drinking large quantities of tomato juice (and 3 quarts is a lot of juice anyhow)... I wonder if you shift the focus of your juices you might have better success flushing your joints.
Airola's break program:
1. DO NOT OVEREAT! (you will pay!)
2. Eat slowly and chew your food extremely well.
3. Take several days of gradual transition to the normal diet (particularly after a long fast like yours)
First day: Eat one whole apple in the morning and a very SMALL bowl of raw vegetable salad at lunch, in addition to your usual juices.
Second: Soaked prunes or figs (with soaking water) for breakfast. Small bowl fresh vegetable salad for lunch. Homemade vegetarian vegetable soup (VERY little if any salt) for dinner. Two apples between meals. All in addition to juices.
Third: Same as second, but add a glass of yogurt and a few raw nuts for breakfast. Increase salad portion at lunch, add a boiled or baked potato. A slice of whole grain bread with butter and a slice of cheese with soup for dinner.
Fourth: Continue to eat light, eat clean, and eat slowly! If you fast longer than ten days, extend the break one day for every four days of fasting.

Thanks Somer!! I've read most of your post as I have mostly beem a lurker on curezone for years. You've done some great work yourself. Thanks for the info, we will follow instructions and break our fast slowly after 21days.
I've also decided to do as suggested and exclude tomatoes during the rest of my fast.
I knew about the nightshade thing for arthritis, but couldn't bring myself to give up fresh tomotoes. Although I gave up potatoes a few years ago. We have been 85% raw food for a few years, but I continued to use tomatoes. So this will be a good experiment to see if the next 5 days of the fast, without any nightshades, will make my soreness improve further.
I've had a little achey back on the right side, sorta like referred pain from liver/gallbladder area. I've used castor oil packs over the liver area and I get good relif. We've both done many Liver Flushes and will probably do more in the future. I saved my 82 year old Mother from having gallbladder surgery by teaching her to flush. She's great and has done a number of flushes and now only has an occassional reminder, if she eats bad, to pay attention to what she's putting in her body.
Yes, we have our own colonic system at home. It's paid for itself many times over. I think we spent around $250 dollars for our setup. At around $60 a session for a professional colonic, you can quickly see the savings. We've had professional colonics and can say we get just as good results from our home system. So we are very happy we bought it. It's a colenmna board made of hard plastic. We use our own 6 gallon plastic bucket. It takes about 45 minutes to run that through and gets us clean as a whistle!
I feel great today, day 17. Think I will cut back on the juice and drink only 6 cups a day and see if I can do a little deeper cleansing these last 5 days. At age 51, I can say I am probably in the best health of my life!!

Day ten, I will break tomorrow for ten days then do another ten, this time all juices. This has been my third ten in this series, and VERY productive! I get lots of gunk, even on day 10.
Breakfast was great! Green apple, black plum, red grape, ginger! MMMMMMM! Now doing lunch, same carrot, celery, beet, parsley, spinach, garlic. I drink 4-6 cups total daily, and have lost a pound a day, feel great!

This is a reply to # 679,405Day 19 and still feeling great! It's still hard to believe I haven't had solid food for this long. I wanted to pass along something that I started seeing in my BM's. A few days ago I started seeing long white stringy things. I thought this may be just mucus, but today I passed a 18" long whitish string. It was very thin. Now I'm thinking this must be a parasite! Yikes! In all the previous fast and colonics we have done, I have never seen this before. We have even done parasite cleanse for a month using MH's dewormer. (The barefoot herbalist. See his forum here on curezone.)Also, we have continued doing maintenace dose of parasite cleanse every week. So, if this is parasites, they must have been extremely hardy. Must of finally starved the buggers! My husband hasn't passed anything similar yet.
Checked our PH this morning, just to see where we are. My urine PH was pretty acidic at around 5.0 while hubby PH was around 6.9. Wonder why I'm so acidic? I'm drinking all fresh pressed alkaline juices. Even adding lemon to filtered water I drink. Maybe it's because I'm throwing off more junk? Don't know, but I'm drinking way less juice than he is. Maybe it's because of parasite die off. Who knows. We will continue to monitor our PH to see if it changes.

I went to day 60 last summer with no food and lived to tell the tale... but I did have my metabolism do a "reboot"--lost hair for about two months (it all came back)! A VERY successful cleanse, however, and well worth the effort. I am going easy this summer and doing a series of ten dayers. I will start my fourth next Saturday and feel spectacular (colon cleansing my ever present goal).
Try good old alkalizing potato peeling broth for the acid.
3 potatoes, cut out any eyes
1 carrot, sliced
1 Celery stalk, sliced
onion or garlic
Cut peel with about 1/2" of potato--discard potato center. Place veggies in a pot, cover with water and simmer about half hour. Strain and serve hot or cold.
Do you FEEL acid? Any reflux? Drinking enough extra water? What is your colon cleansing routine? Sure sounds like you passed parasites--probably deceased. I have passed antique parasites that looked like genuine space aliens! And I am a regular parasite killer, living in Mexico as I do.
Remember this longer fast will require a longer break! This is one of the main reasons I am doing the series of shorter fasts--it really took me months to completely break last summer, and I continued a cleansing/rebuilding diet for six months. These tens are a snap to break, and I go right into another ten without a hitch.
Keep in touch, let us know how you're doing--how you're breaking etc. I am also interested to know which juices you're drinking, how much, and again, what colon cleansing routine you're using. Thanks for sharing info!

This is a reply to # 679,399For me, when I have any sort of pain in my body I know I'm dehydrated. As soon as I up my water intake seriously, pain goes away. You are drinking three quarts a day of juice, but could you add more water? If you could drink half your body weight in ounces in water a day, it might help. I know that's a lot of liquid, but it might be worth a try.
