Hello everyone:

Some of you perhaps might think this request is petty or silly, but
here it goes...................

Mickie's video raising awareness about the Link beetween Thimerosal
and Autism was chosen as one of the top 10 finalists at the "Lions For
Lambs" Contest!!! "What Do You Stand For",

When Mickie was diagnosed I stopped taking videos of him and aside
from a picture here and there I just could not bring myself to
video-tape him or his siblings until his 10th birthday when something
inside me just changed. I realized that after 7 years he was worse
then when he was diagnosed. I felt so frustrated and hopeless up that
point-then I thought, you know what, I should be telling his story to
anyone that I can, instead of just sitting here hurting by myself.
Maybe others could benefit from this information and keep it from
happening to their children.

I started making videos of Mickie and documenting his behaviors about
a month ago. I know that some of you might think that the tittle is a
little extreme, but that is how I feel most of the time. I am not
ashamed of showing is stimming, his ticks and his meltdowns. He is
still my little boy.

The video was chosen by the promoters of the contest, so obviously it
struck a cord with them, because anyone with children has to be
touched by something like this. What happened to our children, could
happen to anyone out there. This crosses racial, cultural and economic
barriers. May be that all I have left is to tell his story, and that's
ok.

I don't know if there were any other Autism awareness videos summited,
but I looked and could not find any.
