The Lotus Flower and Stained Glass Windows

This past Friday I learned the lesson of the Lotus Flower and stained glass windows from a Reiki Master friend of mine.


CONSIDER THE LOTUS FLOWER

I never knew this, but lotus flowers grow in marshy muddy mucky areas. They actually grow UNDER all the muck and the seedlings mature and rise THROUGH the smelly mud until they reach through to the sunlight.

The Lotus flower, in this regard, symbolizes how the spirit of a person matures and grows THROUGH the muddy unpleasant things in life, as they continually feel the heat of God's Spirit warming them through the Mud.

As the lotus flower can't see the fullness of the Sunlight until it reaches all the way through the mud, the child of God cannot see God's total brilliance in this lifetime, until we have passed through the trials that prepare and nourish our spirits as the mud nourishes the baby lotus plants still under the mud.

Even though the child Lotus plant is not at the point of growth where they see the Sun face to face with open bud, the plant can still feel the Sun's warmth.

This is true with a maturing child of God. As we continue to rise up through the mud of life, our inner spirits feel a closer and closer communion with God (heat)that keeps drawing us closer with Him , until we reach spiritual maturity and the emerged lotus plant bud opens up to a beautiful flower that gains all it's nourishement from the Sun.


STAINED GLASS CHURCH WINDOWS

My Reiki Master friend also taught me regarding why God allowed people to make church windows with stained glass. Wether the Window artisan realized it or not, a lesson can be learned through the church window.

Light shines the most clearly through plain crystal clear glass, but tinted glass keeps out many of the suns' rays.

Nevertheless, the Sun still shines through, and each color in the glass is illuminated by the Sun.

This is the same when we are faced with discouraging situations where the sky seems so dark and cloudy and no light can be seen to encourage.

Through the clouds of life, as through the stained glass, the Sun still has the Supreme energy to shine through and illluminate the shaded circumstances we are going through with beautiful Light.
