The principle of chronic pain is a mild oxygen deprivation in the affected area. Perhaps using the infrared LED device could help to open the up the painful loci to increased blood flow and thus relieve the pain. I don't know if this will work. Do any of you have any experience with relieving chronic pain using these electronic devices?
One old nurse I knew used a simple technique that seemed to help many patients. She would set up two basins of water. One had water as hot as the patient could stand and the other had ice water. The patient would then alternate immersing the affected part as long as he could stand and then plunge it into the other basin.
I have used this and it does bring relief. But for something like CTS, I don't know if it will give long term relief.
