So, why are we always told to eat an alkaline diet? It's all over this board. Why do acidic foods make symptoms worse (it's not die off).

I know there is a difference between alkaline forming foods and acidic forming foods, but always, the candida diets I've seen call for alkaline foods. Aren't we just feeding the problem then?
