Um, that's "PREbiotics" Miss Latella!

Hiya Traps -

I am sure what you mean is creating an environment in the body where ADDED probiotics and even prebiotics are not needed - not an easy task with today's diet that is dependent upon plants from mineral depleted soils and processed foods.

Prebiotics are a natural and very useful part ot a healthy diet and healthy human with such an environment as you envision.  Prebiotics increase the number and/or activity of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria, groups of bacteria which as I am sure you know have several beneficial effects in terms of improving digestion (including enhancing mineral absorption) and the effectiveness and intrinsic strength of the immune system.

Dietary sources of prebiotics include soybeans, inulin sources (such as Jerusalem artichoke, jicama, and chicory root), raw oats, unrefined wheat, unrefined barley and yacon.  Just be sure you avoid the ones that Monsanto has gottent their evil roundup ready hands on.

I hope btw, that you remember Emily Latella (Gildna Radner) from Saturday Night Live back in the day ("What's all this fuss about Soviet jewelry?  I say if the Soviets want to keep their jewels at home, it is their business . . . .")
