Coconut oil/lauracin treatment

Hi there

I have read various articles and forum posting on this site and across the web on treatment of genital herpes using coconut oil/lauracin.

I was diagnosed with genital herpes almost 2 years ago. I had few outbreaks in the first year, but I have had several recurrences in the past 8 months (correlates to starting a new, and at times more stressful job). The past two recurrences have been particularly aggressive and I have had flu like symptoms as well. So far I have simply been trying to treat using salt water baths and taking high dose vitamin E. I am ready to try something new to try to stop the recurrences.

I would be grateful for any tips you may have on using coconut oil as a treatment/preventative:

1. What type of oil should I use?
2. How much should I use and how often?
3. Can it be used topically or should I just eat it?

Does anyone have any experience with lauricin? Does it (and the coconut oil) have any undesirable side effects?
