Need Info Please

I have just been diagnosed with a throat tumor, and I will find out tomorrow what they plan to do. I need some info fast as I have read some pretty scary things about chemo and radation on throat tumors. The doc seems to think it has been growing for about 10 months but yet he also said in the smae breath he had never seen anything like this before so any info that will help me make a rational decision would be greatly appreciated, I am a 53 year old female. Hoping to grow old with my hubby.
