Re: How often can I do an enema?

Hi Alicia! :)

As long as it's a plain saline enema (water plus good Sea Salt , about 1 teaspoon per quart of water) you can do them quite frequently. I've done them daily for a week, then take a break to allow the microbes to repopulate after an implant enema of acidophilus - and taking it and Primal Defense orally. :)

I have used enemas extensively due to candida and leaky gut, and they have never interfered with peristaltic action. I've never become dependent on them. :)

Other things that are quite safe to add to an enema include 1/2 cup of aloe vera juice (the drinkable kind); liquid chlorophyll, and apple cider vinegar. Aloe is very soothing and healing to the mucosa lining, chlorophyll oxygenates the bowels which kills pathogenic bacteria and aids healing; and ACV kills yeast woo hoo! :)

Stronger enemas such as coffee enemas should be done infrequently, for cases like being too toxic, suffering from brain fog, allergies, cold-flu symptoms, etc.

You should do a bit of microbe replacement after every 7 enemas. :) Until your colon is clean, the microbes will not properly propagate the area.

Hope that answers your question somewhat, there's a lot that you can know about enemas but really jsut knowing this much will keep you safe and healthy both. :)

Good luck to you! :)
