how permanent are the results?

basically i'm looking for something that's permanent.. because i'm sick and disgusted at having to look at all this hair, plus nothing seems to work, not even waxing, i end up with major skin reactions. it makes my self esteem plummet when i think about it, which is all the time... i'd be too embarassed to have a male doctor take care of this for me.
