Head Lice/DNA/Iodine?

My neighbors child has head lice. I have not found anything on my daughter or myself but I am treating us as if we had it in full force. I've had this child at my house and taken him to town for several days this week. So I jumped on the bandwagon in the middle of my personal computer crashing, and started researching. Found pages based on a study where they washed the lice in alchohol and iodine(2%) to change their DNA. Can't find the study this morning but I believe it was out of Britian. We are using the mayonaise, olive oil route for treatment along with adding tea tree oil to our castile soap/shampoo. I've decided to go back to using the Iodine in my castile soap/shampoo also.

Have any of you ever read anything on Iodine and head lice? Thanks! HH
