Re: Emergency room follow up
I feel for you Mary but you only have one life and in this situation that is what really matters, who knows what the BM test may show, but it was worth going to the doctor. In Illinois we have free clinics, I mean if money is a problem you could ask the doctor to refer you to a free clinic to continue the treatment after you see him again. WE have the Cook County Hospital but they also have clinics that are free and the meds are free too, ( And these are county doctors) Some of the best doctors work at free clinics and the goverment pays for it, you may have a little more waiting. but there may be some clinics in your city that go according to your income they are all over. Also at these clinics they do shedule colonosomys, you just have to go to the hospital to get it done. But depending on the country they may do it at the clinic. At the hospital I work at (it's not a free clinic) but if the police finds someone passed out somewhere (we have gotten many cases in our SICU) those people get treated as if they were people with insurance, I mean the Administrator is a Nun (not that it matters) but we don't look at what money you don't have when a person's life is on the line, the doctors just treat them even if they come into the ER we do not turn them away (In other states they won't either) if they don't have insurance. Infact we have been really busy in our hospital because other hospitals stop doing some care they don't consider an "Emergency" and these people have been coming to us.
But they have something called Public Aid and for those who are out of work especially now with the economy being as it is they will give you a Link Card or Food Stamps for food an a Medical Card for medical purposes. Depending on your state look into what they offer because at this time there is something free for everyone , just take advantage of what you can get now. Don't be ashamed to take advantage, even people with jobs are getting the free care too because their jobs may not offer insurance or it may be too expensive to for the medical insurance, and if you have kids you will get even more assistance especially those who can't pay rent with children they also have Public housing and they have it for single people too, they go according to your income, and they may have it where you live. If you don't have a job some pay maybe 2.00 for rent. (My brother stays in another part of ILLinois and he's paying 70.00 dollars for a 1 bedroom apartment, lucky him) In other forums I have seen people looking for help here in the curezone because they don't have Medical Insurance, they just probably just don't know what's available to them in their state. President Obama is fighting for this type of Health Care because so many people have lost their jobs and their medical insurance.. As far as the bill is concerned just pay on it as you can, your health is more important than a few hundred dollars, be encouraged.
