I disagree, don't forgive continued abusers, most importantly work to stop them or remove yourself from their presence and make peace with God for giving them free will.

If an abuser genuinely changes and seeks forgiveness, that's another story. Even if you do, forgive but don't forget. Be aware of them until they've consistenly proven themselves.
