Fun with Allopathic Medicine
Hi - It was good to get your reply. I think your idea of continuing with your diet and trying the apple cider vinegar/stomach acid Ph thing first is a good one. I hope it works for you.
That being said, I know that dealing with a condition that can't be treated (and isn't even recognized) by allopathic medicine is not easy. I went through it 15 years ago with my adrenal fatigue, and I remember what it was like. I learned that I had AF after I got a saliva test from a ND, and my MD told me that that condition isn't recognized or treated by allopathic medicine. She told me I was depressed, not fatigued, and put me on an antidepressant which didn't help. She sent me to a psychiatrist, who completely dismissed what I told him about my saliva test and AF diagnosis. He told me I was "obsessed" with the AF diagnosis, and wanted to put me on lithium (I told him I had been bipolar in the past) and another drug to deal with my "obsession" about the AF. Taking three psychiatric drugs seemed crazy to me, so I refused the two the psychiatrist wanted me to take. The supplements my ND gave me didn't help. I went to another ND who was able to treat my AF successfully. After my AF improved I stopped taking the antidepressant.
My point is that I know how crazy-making your situation can be. It was *very* difficult for me to accept the idea that I had a condition that couldn't be treated (and wasn't even recognized) by a MD. Dealing with the psychiatrist from hell made it worse. When the first ND I saw wasn't able to help me I felt totally lost. It took me a long time to learn about and accept the natural healing paradigm, and it was a difficult process at times.
