Speaking of white willow ... it's hard to know how much to take. I bought some to try instead of taking aspirin, but the amount I took didn't do anything. What amount would be the same as say, two aspirin?
It is hard to say since levels of active constituents can vary a lot from plant to plant. Some of the factors that affect levels of actve compounds in plants include soil conditions, water availability, stresses such as drought and insect attack, time of day the plant was picked, how it was dried, how fast it was dried, part of the plant used, etc.
By the way wintergreen and cayenne have higher levels of "natural aspirin" than white willow bark.
