You seem to have a rather naive view of the economics of medicine. It is my belief that psychiatry as is commercial medicine in general is run and controlled by huge profit-oriented medical corporations with an eye on profits and little else and do not brook any competition from "alternative" or "complementary medicine", despite overwhelming evidence of the benefit of nutritional medicine.
