Dr.Ward Dean M.D. Xylitol(Intravenous)Birtch Trees
An interesting exception to this rule is Xylitol. Dr. Ward Dean states that this sweetener is not metabolized by humans OR yeast: "Yeast gobble it up, thinking they're getting sugar, and die".
He considers it one of the best anti-candida strategies! However, I must add a cautionary note, since it appears that for some, Xylitol is a problem.
Note that most Xylitol available now is made from corn cobs, rather than the original Birch Bark.

Dear Dr. Dean, I’m so happy I found this format to write to you. I’m desperately trying to find a simple yes or no on this. I read on someone’s website (I forget which one) that you did a study with yeast, xylitol, and stevia. The website said that the yeast grew when introduced to the stevia but that xylitol fooled the yeast. I believe the quote I read was "They gobble it up thinking it’s
Sugar and they die. I’m fighting for my life here and I feel like I have one more chance to get well. My next and last appointment with the doctor who is helping me is on February 13, and I was hoping to have that information before my apponintment. I have to be driven several hundred miles to see this doctor and this information is priceless to me. Thank you! Mr. D.
Dear Mr. D.,I hope this reaches you in time. I don’t know about the stevia (which has a HORRIBLE after-taste) and yeast, but I do know about Xylitol. Xylitol tastes like sugar, but is not a "nutritive" substance-i.e. the yeast (or candida albicans) "gobble it up," thinking it’s sugar, can’t metabolize it, and they die. Another substance that is a very powerful yeast-killer is Mild Silver Protein (MSP). Start with a very low dose (1/4 tsp 3 times per day) and increase the dose gradually, as tolerated. The Herxheimer reaction (caused by yeast die-off) may be severe. After you work up to 1 tsp, 3-4 times per day, if you’re still having yeast problems, you might ask your physician to administer it intravenously (1 bottle MSP in a 500cc bag of D5W infused over 3 hours).
This is a strictly EXPERIMENTAL use, as VRP does NOT sell MSP for intravenous use. However, that is what I do for my patients with severe yeast symptoms. You could also try VRP’s KandidaPlex™, which contains such anti-candida ingredients as undecylenic acid.

Maybe you would like to ask him a question or two.
